I'm working on nabbing a 50 BBK here real soon and originally planed on getting it painted. Do you guys think the yellow is too flashy? Any other suggestions? I'm kind of on the fence on this one so any thoughts much appreciated ... figured I'd throw on some H&R's on there too for full effect
I would also say to roll with a deeper/richer color (like red) but its your call. The proposed drop looks perfect, if your H&R's get you that low how cool would that be!
Hey if you have the time photo shop on the front lip for grins......
I could think of two colors that yellow will match with....black & white. I believe these two colors will go with anything, but that's just my opinion.
If you're going with yellow, better pick the right shade to make it look nice. I say definitely a high gloss.
I like the yellow against the black. Red would be fine too - or even a metallic blue. One of the nice things about black is that it goes with just about anything. Make it your favorite combo.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I think I'm going to try a few different variations, I have about a month before I'm able to get this done anyway. I really wanted to like the yellow but I don't think it's for me. Maybe it does need to be a deeper/glossier yellow, we'll see.
White would get too dirty too fast from brake dust.
Black wouldn't show off the BBK and do it justice.
Red is what I have, they pop out and look nice. I was thinking of yellow to be different as most BBK are red, but didn't want to spend the extra for custom powder coating. AP Racing does have black with yellow script, but is too hidden for my tastes.
Brembo yellow like the porsches work well. Check out Rookie's:
Wow no one really likes yellow huh?
Well I do. It goes pretty well with black and than smoked gunmetal look you got going on with you 50. Should come out well I think. Go for it. Just think of some Lambo's or Scuderia's... Kinda the same look.
I ran red for a little while, not so bad but very metoo'ish I think, I'd rather have anything but red. I really like the yellow, considered it but decided on orange to match my interior. I'm probably going to do aiya's bbk white when we do it. I think it will hold up well & be no worse for brake dust than any other color really, if there nice & shiny & smooth they should clean up easily enough
