passenger seat not reclining

whats up guys, my passenger seat does not recline nor raise, it does move back and forth and tilt. i reclined it all the way forward so its stuck upright, I cant move it back!!! any suggestions??!?!?!
 
If you have navigation on your FX, your passanger seat will only move forward and back, not up or down or recline. This is due to Nav Computer module that they put under the passenger side.

If you are not able to move the seat back and forth then you have something wrong with the actual seat motor that controls the movement of your seat or there might be something blocking the rail that your seat it on to help it move forward and back..

Depending on the miles of your car, you cold take it in and see if it is covered my the MNfg warranty
 
Correction Bert. Even with the nav package the seat will move up/down/front/back.

Yanadine, I would take it to the dealer as it sounds like your seat motor has died.
 
most likely cause would be crud/coffee/soda etc in the seat switch if you have the first design with the switches on the top inner part of the seat... ESPECIALLY if it reclined up & then not back down... 95% sure it'll be the switch.. a new pass seat switch is like $72 list.... you can try to use the little red straw & spray a bit of wd40 or equivelent in there & move it around back & forth & it may clear up.... you can't hurt anything doing this, just cover it with a rag around the top before spraying so it goes inside the switch without going anywhere else in the interior... def worth a shot I would say...

maybe on an '05 and up.

On mine, it only moves front to back and the back rest forward and back. but, my FX does not have the ability to tilt or go up and down.
 
Maybe you got some spoooge down in there if you shot off target. It happens. I hit the ceiling once . . . that's the truth
