Well here is the outcome of my tint experiments. Well it did not go as planned:tongue (2): Its not the product its EL PASO BULL$HIT weather. In my opinion its a good product and will do it says it will. Fairly easy to put on, there is a little bit of prep involved. The lights need to be clean and I mean CLEAN!! It goes on very easy with a little sponge, you can see the results almost immediately. That is where I have problem with it:confused.:. Here in El Paso ITS ALWAYS DUSTY:mad.::mad.:. So as the tint is in the process of curing/ drying little bits of dust and sand land on the lenses and stick there. The tint becomes very tacky as its drying but here it is to dusty/ sandy for me to do and still leave the lenses on the car. Took some pictures of the rear forgot to take some of the front. The "Ice blue" for the front came out nice! I was impressed but again as it was drying sand and dirt landed on the compound and ruined it. So I had to remove the front tint and rear tint. I'm going to try again and order another set for rear and front again in same colors.
Advice::wink (2):
Don't expect this to be done in a hour. Cure time 24 hours
Dont apply in a dusty area/ air.
Remove your lights and do Indoors. (I'm going to do it this way next time)
Take your time.
Dont over do it, a little goes a long way.
Some before/after shots on the tails
PS: That Evo in the background has been on that lift for 2 weeks!!! He blew up his Trany!!!
In the last picture you can see the light gray sponge. You use that to soak up a pre determined amount of tint and then apply to the light. I was happy with how it was going till the dust/ sand started falling on the wet tint.
Well, it took 4 months for them to come in :confused.: but I finally have my hose kit. Had it custom done in orange to match the orange wire wrap I have going on. In the engine picture all the red is now orange. The Z-tube is now carbon wrapped along with the part where the MAF is connected to. Next is a 350Z carbon engine cover (the partial one, not the one that covers the whole engine).
The last pictures are from my quick stop in LA about 2 weeks ago. These were taken the day after the big wind storm that blew through.
I was going to try to make it to the coast the night of the storm, but while on Sunset Blvd I had tree limbs and palm pieces fly horazontal in my head lights. So I called it a night:wink (2): I had enough of tree pieces hitting my car.
Well all the time has came. I traded in the FX I did get emotional when I was cleaning her out. Lots of good times and meeting new friends with her. Well I UPGRADED to this a 2010 NISSAN GTR!!!:driver:
Don't worry I'll still hang around IS. It still has not kicked in what I'm driving. I jess I'm still a little bit in shock. The previous owner pushed her up to 600HP at the wheel. Sticker price for a 2010 is 85,000$ I got her for 70,000$ with 16,000 miles.
FYI I'll be back in LA for my summer holidays around June - July again. I can't forget my IS buddies:tinysmile_grin_t:
