Painting Tails smoke

Does anyone know the process to paint the tails smoke?

Ive been to a few paint shops and they all say different things and the prices are not even consistent.

1. One said buy the transparent black spray paint and then they will clear coat the lights for me.
2. Wet sand the tails and add some black paint and clear??
3. Thin out black paint and then clear. This one is the only logical one but I dont want them to come out too dark.

I also want the finish to look like car paint, ive seen some that look like they have been spray painted and the finish doesnt look clean~

Anyone in the Vegas or LA area know of any shops?

I've seen some good work come out of there, too.

Also, check out Platinum Motorsports on Melrose. They did an amazing job painting a side of my car that got keyed, blended everything, and I am very, very picky. Then, they did an excellent job painting my girlfriend's Range Rover.

They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for (in a good way).

Im new to the forum.. dont have any pics up but im actually starting that project tommorow. Painting the tail and headlight housings black... ill have pics up in a day or two of the process.. should be fun

Just make sure you do it right. You don't want the cheepo civic look
