Paint my trunk lid .... what do you think?

Hey guys,
I want to paint my trunk lid teh exact same colour as my rims but im not sure if it will look good or not .. I think the idea is great here take a look at some photos and tell me your ideas if this will look good or not on my car :D :

I wouldn't paint the trunk lid, but I have seen some nice two tone paint jobs on first gens. There are a few pics here, I'm sure you'll find it if you search.

I think I'll look like you have a lid off a black fx waiting to be painted... If you're going for the graphite/black look I'd black out the trunk trim and other chrome accents like handles, rocker panels, Grille. Maybe paint the roof black? Two tone paint jobs are so 1990 IMO ;)
 
Yea i thought about painting the exteriour trim accents but every paint shop i go to says that the paint will eventually peel off ... Is there a way i can paint them my self?
 
I did. Take them off (there is a DIY somewhere). Lightly sand, clean real good w/ rubbing alcohol or acetone and spray. Fairly easy. And if it does peel of in a few yrs, just reapply. $5 in sparse paint and looks killer.
 
a little off topic but hows the super charger rmf? :ninja: I was following your build and then no more updates?!
 
Hahaha yea dude i have been really really bust these days but i will give some updates: I have had the car for about 4 months now .. covered about 5000 kms and she is still running fine (knock on wood) ... it does use ALOT more fuel now (doubled the bill) with my same type of driving style (not always so aggressive) ... it is kind of annoying to drive in the traffic though .. my tuner set the rpm to idle at about 1100 ... so my foot is always on the brake in traffic since the car is always pushing more than normal (im going to have the rpm reduced this saturday) ... i have my car checked by my tuner every 3 weeks (A/F , leaks , etc)

When it comes to the performance aspect ... when my car was first finished we brought a friend who owns a G35 manual with all the possible engine modd bolt ons (including cams) ... everthing except for a F/I .... I pulled half a car length ahead of the person until i reached about 180kph then he started to pull away from me since i have long gearing ratios .... But i got alot of surpirsed faces that day on that road ;P :D... i have beaten ALOT of z's and g's (the automatic ones i embarass :P) ... im going to post up a vid on youtube as soon as i can showing me go faster than the speedometer can handle (220 kph is the max reading) .. after that i dont know how fast i went :PPPPP

I say leave it. A little chrome makes your fx look real nice. All black then the fx might look dull and boring. But HEY to each its own!
