Paddle Shifter Kit

that will work, but you will not be able to use the stock wheel or airbag & have to use an aftermarket wheel with no airbag... not a good thing on a street car I think...

well, not really, but I am working with a local guy in developing a way to adapt the paddles to the z,... much more challenging than the fx, I'm gutting the paddle switches themselves & rebuilding them & building a bracket... building them into the cover itself... been playing with it a while now... way different from the fx... the ign switch is right where the paddle switch would normally sit... very tight...

do you sleep.... have you made clones... i dont have time to do one project... you have 5 just for infinitis...
I'm with you on this one Ash, I haven't even gotten around to re-installing my carputer, and that thing was like 99% done before... the incident :embarrassed:
I don't like the look of those GTM paddles... and WOW that is NOT cheap.

Steering column

I have an '08 FX45, and have had it since Oct 07, I don't know why I didn't notice this until today, the upper steering shroud (the one attached to the wheel) has two plugs in it on opposite side probably to be used for paddle shifters. Is this common for the FX for all model years or maybe in Europe or maybe getting ready to tool up for the '09's (maybe I can use them with parts from Infiniti).

upper strut

You seem to be good with the FX, why do you to index the projection on the plates (inside engine compartment) on top of the struts?

upper strut towers

the plate that sit on top of the strut towers that the three studs go thru it and get secured with nuts... they have an index projection (tab) on them and the service manual that I saw said to orientate them in certain position and I was wondering why? (if you put an strut brace on you would have to remove them.....)

oh, ok. from what I remember the flat tab part faces to the inside, but you won't have to deal with any of that when putting a strut brace on because you do that with the fx on the ground & you will not be dropping the strut out of the bucket anyway, just remove the 3 nuts, slip the oe collar off & the strut mount bracket on... simple, no worries...

even if you did have trouble in the future with tab orientation, it will be self explanitory when your actually doing it, you can't put them on wrong without realizing it, but again, not an isue with just a strut bar...

oh yeah, there talking about a flat tab on the upper strut mount, not the little washer piece that sits on top...
