This code just came on along with slip vdc off. I took it to. Y local mechanic shop and confirmed sensor but they are going to check everything to make sure it's not something that could turn into something huge. I hope it's not going to turn into anything costly I just closed on my new house last week :(

How funny this was replaced at the last handy andy meet! Looks like these are going out now for the 2003/2004 years.

Yes and no. I replaced my crank sensor, mounted below. P0335 or 0355 i forget. His cam phase sensors are mount up top. Might require plenum removal to get to them. There are 2 sensors, one per bank. They do the same job as my crank sensor but when one gets do either the car will run like crap or die out.

Andy is right cam sensors are $30-80. So are crank sensors. Its a matter of getting clearance to them and then simple 10mm bolt. I had a 05 with 65k and my crank gave out.

Isolate which bank needs the sensor, pull of the intake plenum, simple job and get to the sensor. Might i suggest taking care of both sensors. It should fix everything.

Great info Peter. The one on passenger side can easily get at, but the driver side will need to remove at least the intake tubing. Both are on the end of the block near the firewall.

He is going to replace both sensors for parts + 50 on labor I don't have the time or energy right now pulling 60+ hours at work.. As far as running like crap I was on the high away and it lost power for half a second then vdc off slip light came on. So I'm thinking those come on when the computers detects something is not right?

no those don't computers don't detect anything. Notice when you u turn the key on but not start the car. All lights go on, that's exactly what happened.

Ouch at $275 for two OEM sensors. But car works that's all that matters. Courtesyparts.com had them for about $90 each. They are OEM.

VDC off and SLIP often will come on and stay on when there is some sort of problem, often accompanied by other lights.

I should also mention they did an oil change and tire rotation in included in the 275 and they fixed my exhaust from my other thread for 90 bills
