Yesterday made only 1 week since we've own this used 04 FX35 and today my "Service Engine Soon", "SLIP" and "VDC OFF" light came on!

I have a cheap code reader and it threw these codes: P0340 and noSLIP. I found that the P0340 code is for my Camshaft Position Sensor (right bank) but I don't know what noSLIP means? I'm hoping someone can help me with these questions:

  • Has anyone gotten the code: noSLIP and if so what does it mean?
  • Does the SLIP and VDC OFF lights come on when the Cam Position Sensor goes out? It seemed to have all come on at the same time.
  • The dealership is willing to give us a loaner while they look into fixing this - can I still drive the car if these codes are present?

Thank you IS!!!

I would check the brake fluid reservoir. If the fluid is low, those three lights will comes on at random.

The vehicle is back at the dealership, I'm just hoping they can fix this right away. From some of their reviews the service dept. here sucks. Will post updates as this situation progress.

Got the FX back from the dealership today, work order stated they fixed Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1 - code P0340. Drove it home and everything seems to be okay. Is there anything else I should keep an eye out for like perhaps Bank 2 going out, etc.? Thanks in advanced.

For some reason when I started it up the morning it got towed those lights were off. I did mention it to them and even sent them a shot of from my phone. But I guess because there was no lights when they received it they didn't check on it.

I replaced my drivers side cam shaft sensor on Oct 14th 2014 same issues.
I then started getting Error code P0335 Crank shaft sensor in Jan 2015. Not sure if the 2 are linked in any way or just its a 10 year old car.
