Yesterday, I got the chance to install the 4 ft. LED strip under the Tonneau cover.
I didn't take any pictures during the install, but it's pretty straight foward..
I got the water proof, pre-wired LED ribbon strips from Oznium, 4 ft. in length/72 LEDs. The aluminum bar underneath the tonneau cover measures: 45 inches long, so I had to cut about 6 inches off the LED ribbon strip to have it fit perfectly. The ribbon strip had 72 LEDs, I had to cut 9 LEDs off.. No biggie, I still got 63 LEDs.. Hahahaa

(Sorry about the picture size, but I didn't take pictures of mine's, so I got an image from their website.)

Basically I extended the wires and tapped it to the light on the left side in the trunk area, but kept the pigtail with the plug, so I can just unplug it when I need to take the cover out. Punched a small hole near the light on the left, ran the wires inside, and tap it to the wires going to the light. Pretty simple..

Here are some night shots that I took earlier..

Now I can't stop opening the trunk.. Hahahahaa

love it. i wanna do mine too. can you take some pics of how you connected the terminals to the left side light cover ?

Thanks guys..

ghettojiggalo: sweet, any idea how much power that strip draws?
I really have no idea, that information is not listed on their website. But it can't be much, due to size (gauge) of the wire. I swear that wire is 26-28 gauge.

turbocad6: that is awesome. would be cool if there were 2 contacts so it would self connect & disconnect when you take it in & out
Well, it doesn't self connect & disconnect via contact points, but I can disconnect it when I take the cover out.. take a look below.
BTW.. I'm flattered that turbocad6 said that "it's awesome".. I mean.. This guy has his own section on here.. Hahahaa

Here are some pictures of the connection area vINCe_Inc.

Wire-tap the wires going to the light..

FYI: Yellow = Ground (-), Baby blue = Power (+).

This is where I punched a hole for the wires to go in..

I'm gonna get some velcro to have that wire sit right against the panel soon..

Yea.. I have replaced all the interior bulbs with LED bulbs..

Hahaha.. I like your avatar pic more than mine's..
I drew mine's with MS Paint.. it's really crappy, cause I can't find a 1st gen "silhouette" pic like your's

Wow that is pretty awesome. Does it come with the baby blue and red wires in order connect it to the stock truck light? Also, when you cut off some of the LED's, did you just cut them right off? Or was there any rewiring? Did you just contect the part that you cut off to the part you didnt cut off then wire it to the stock light? Does that make sense?
