Overwhelming Choices - The perfect exterior lighting bulbs set-up?

IN YOUR OPINION -
So before I posted - I searched forever - through past years of IS lighting posts, just to find myself with 15 different web pages opened of bulbs/IS Pages of pictures/Different Sites/Ect - trying to configure different carts with all sorts of different style bulbs and tons of different pictures. :err: I quit. It shouldn't be this stupidly hard. There are too many different products - and not enough reviews on each.

What I am looking for (and I'm sure many others) - is probably exactly what you most have already achieved.

*Super White / A hint of blue - but not TOO blue - no ricer stuff (6000K right?)
*Easy on the wallet
*All bulbs Match in color (or are at least very close).
*Easy install (willing to do the HID conversion on fogs because of function - but don't need any special kits for LED turn signals)

There are a crap-ton of not only colors - but bulb type choices for each size.

Can someone just post the links to the exact bulbs they ordered - that all match and were priced within reason? That would be very, very helpful - I'm sure not for just me, but for future FX owners in the future.
For someone to post a combination of what they configured that worked (and links) could save many people, lots of time - and money (that's what a forum is for right?).

I'm looking to do all exterior lights - (super white)
~ Headlights DS2 (2 qty)
~ Fog Lights 9006 (2 qty) or - which HID kit? (DDM tunning 6K?)
~ Parking Light (7440) (2 qty)
~ Turn Signals (7440) (2 qty)
~ Front Side Markers (194) (2 qty)
~ Rear Side Markers (194) (2 qty)
~ Reverse Lights (921/906) (2 qty)
~ License Plate Lights (194) (2 qty)

If anyone can answer this - thank you very, very much - I'm sure many people in the future will thank you as well.
I was planning on going through autoillumination just because it looked like a 1-stop shopping place.

One problem is that your "perfect setup" is a completely subjective aesthetic opinion. Another is that a particular temperature (6000k) bulb can appear differently in different applications. Finally, your descriptions are way too vague. "Super white", "easy on the wallet", and "easy install" are pretty worthless criteria when your audience ranges from high school students to aerospace engineers. Did you find pics of someone's ride in particular who shares your taste? If so, you could just ask them about their setup. Do you like any of the OEM bulbs?
The forum deal only works when people are willing to put in the effort to gather useful info. It sounds like you've already done most of it on this subject, why not post what you found and let the forum help you find what it is you seek? One suggestion is to find a picture of the color you want out of all these lights and post it here so that people can start posting matches. I really doubt any one person is going to do all this research for you just because you asked so nicely.
Also, if you named your thread something containing the term LIGHTING, BULBS, or anything remotely descriptive it might help others looking for lighting info actually find it. Perhaps a mod will kindly rename it for you...

You are over-thinking my post.
I'm pretty sure most people here are in the "common" when it comes to their FX's in general.
I.E. - 5% want O.E.M. 4300K
70% want 6000K
25% want 8000K
Correct me if I'm wrong, but after looking at 800+ posts of lighting topics - that's the verdict I'm coming too.

"superwhite, easy on the wallet, and easy install" shouldn't include engineers and high-school students.
It simply (but nicely) stated not "ricer-ass blue" not "$300 for a set of Ds2s" and I don't care for setting up multiple ballasts for blinkers.
Super-white is a pretty common term for the above and bulbs are listed as so, and 6000K is as in "Kelvin" - which is a temperature color measurement - no?

If someone has a decent set-up of aftermarket bulbs through-out the exterior of their vehicle - then please post them up. It's not rocket science, or asking for a living will to be made - that's all I'm asking.

For example, as a long-term forum member on a off-road Toyota forum - if you asked me how I lifted my Toyota in regards to:
*Good on-road handling
*Great off-road flexibility
*Best Cost
I would direct you to the wheelersoffroad webpage that has everything you need: OME 90004 front struts, the OME 881 front coils, the 60028 shocks for the rear, the OME 891's springs for the rear - all at the cheapest price you could find. It's a common set-up, recommended by most - and I wouldn't hesitate to point someone in the right direction. It would take me 1.5-2.0 minutes of my time at most - linking someone in the right direction; which could save them upwards of $600.00. It would take a "newbie" 72+ hrs to find that info - if they even could, without the fear of being scolded.

People that have already "been there, done that" can help other forum members out.
I guess I'm just the guy looking for the best results from other forum members' previous experiences. Sorry if that's too much to ask.

FWIW - I'm about to do all the struts/springs on our FX35 - if for some reason I spot where someone hasn't covered something on the DIY pages that makes it easier/more cost effective- I will post it up. Just in case, someone in the future can use that to their advantage.

DDM 6000K/6000K. The shots with KNFX's AC are OEM bulbs I'm pretty sure. Also, I don't have any DTRL bulbs in except for last shot.

My DDM fogs are actually a slightly different color. I would have returned them a year ago, but I was going out of town and needed them for driving. I've left them in since, and they haven't gotten worse. Not enough to really bother me.
 
Didn't read through the whole post -- but here is my opinion.

6000K D2S and 6000K HID fog light kit for mostly driving where there are frequently street lamps.

4300K OEM D2S and 4300 HID fog light kit for driving on darker roads and where distance night vision is important.

It's a noticeable difference the lumens lost going from 4300K to 6000K. But 6000K makes you stick out of the crowd.
 
if you want to rid of some of the 'yellow look' from our 4300 HIDS, you can try the clear lens mod where you basically open your headlights and swap out the oem lens for clear lens. have not done this, hopefully others can give more input

Also, you can do the spacer mod (space out the projector lens and modify the rear reflector). This gives you the blue "mountain".
 
I have been pleased with the DDM 6K heads and fogs. I decided to order the head bulbs at the same time from the same manufacturer as it lessened the possibility that the color might vary. A 6K bulb from one maker may have a different color than another manufacturers bulb.
 
Great info - thank you all. :tup: I plan on splitting the headlights open in the future when I have more time so I can paint them - I'll have to remember the clear lens mod.

One last thing I'm slightly confused on -
The actual DS2 headlight bulb replacement from DDM -
Can I just buy the "HID Bulb Replacements" to drop in - as seen here:

Or do I need to purchase the entire kit? as seen here:

I would assume bulbs only - but I don't know if DDM bulbs work in OEM housings.

Okay, I just finished my order at DDM - I did the DS2 6000K DDM bulb replacement (pair), and the 9006 HID Kit 6000K for the fogs.


I am about to finish up at autoillumination - anyone see anything wrong with my current order - or suggest anything different?
