the 1st gen NSX is still one of my favourite cars to this day. i cant see the one new having so much of a presence as the old one did, but i guess we shall see
the first image reminded me of the new GT-R and a bit of an aston martin for some reason...

Oh, btw... the rumor is... a V10 engine!!! Ironic, because Acura/Honda doesn't even have a V8 anywhere in their lineup... They're the only one in the big (Japanese) 3 that doesn't... so they're going to completely bypass the V8 and go V10... assuming this project doesn't fall through (like it has several times)

I also really like the NSX. When I was at LMS last week , Steve mentioned that Lexus is putting out a supercar also, wow that would be cool. Skyline, NSX, Lexus having the lineup in the US

I'm still an NSX fan. Every once in a while I toy with the idea of picking one up. I really like what they did with the one you posted up here.

I know what you mean... a couple guys over at the Acura forum that I belong to, just picked up a NSX... I think they paid $30k with moderate miles on the odometer.

It is going to be wired since the first gen NSX is rear-mid mount and the new one will be fron-mid mount.
I like the first pic EXCEPT the ugly front and headlight.

too bad toyota is stopping development on the supra due to "fuel economy targets"

Supra / NSX / GT-R would have been nice

I loved both the NSX & Supras......the 90's Supra was a great crusier car. I raced a turbo one back when I had my Syclone.....hahaha he was probably thinking what is that lil black truck and why is it spooling and blowing off on me?

Next Honda NSX could be dubbed "Super Hybrid Sports"

We’ve been told the new NSX has been steadily progressing since the test car’s appearance at Nürburgring last year where it pulled off some promising lap times. Where things get tricky is that the project now seems to be more like an exercise in parts sharing to create what Honda calls “Super Hybrid Sports”. It’s been hinted that rumours of Honda scrapping the new NSX project turned out to be merely a slight direction change to accommodate a more environmentally friendly approach which, according to our sources, will be a direct answer to Toyota’s FT-HS hybrid sports car.

Readers with long memories might remember the 600PS 5.5L V10 that was slated to power the new NSX. Well with the direction change comes a new powerplant which is now expected to be the next generation “valveless throttle” 3.5L V6 coupled with a hybrid system (from the next-gen Legend/Acura RL) to produce around 450PS which would put it in line with the Toyota FT-HS. Honda hopes to beat Toyota in the fuel efficiency stakes so there might still be some work to do to overcome the expected weight deficit. The added weight of course will be due to the SH-AWD system which will be bolted to an aluminum platform and feature a rear transaxle just like the R35 Nissan GT-R. We’re told that this same platform, albeit made of steel, will provide the basis for the next Honda Legend/Acura RL. For the time being our source withheld any mention of a release date or pricing, also the change in direction for the NSX has obviously pushed back the previously expected 2010 debut.

So it seems that the next NSX will be somewhat of a diluted version of the car we reported on last year, unfortunately without the potentially GT-R slaying V10. It begs the question, is it better to have an eco-friendly super hybrid sports car, or nothing at all?

I don't know about you guys..

Looks like a cross of the EVO, Honda S2000 and the GTR...

Looks small too.. I hope the real one will look better...

:tup:you never know... manufacturers like to introduce new models in big movies

Worked pretty well for the new camaro...well for as long as they can make it last this time. It's been some years now and no new re-designs yet. Just some skin changes.

Any clue as to what the price range would be on a new NSX round about?
