ok, got some detailing done- clay, bit of wet sanding, polishing, waxing, etc
going to get some acrylic coating of some sort done- shes almost black in back worthy...

just a basic black/black 07 fx35- with all tinted windows- I would like to
1)put some chrome detailing just around the outline of the windows
2)some new wheels- hubby wants a more blacked out look with the wheels- Im not sure what I want yet....
3) I would like to make the roof rack look like the sport and chrome/aluminum it out- do you think I could just take them off, prime them and spray them chrome??
****4)whats your take on adding side vents? I like them in the pic below, however, they wouldn't be carved in, just be stick on ones..... do you think it would be cheesy???

Honest opinion on the side vent --- chessy & cheap. If you go all the way and making it functional -- now that is a different story.

As for the chrome moldings around the windows, you can look them up on InifinitiPartsUSA.com for the complete 10 piece set for about $1K.

Chrome paint the roof rack or anywhere--I have not heard of anyone have much luck. Taking the roof rack out is pretty simple, just have to pry CAREFULLY on the plastic end cover pieces and unbolt.

1) as la_fx35 said, you can get them here:

2) I posted these for my friend in case you are interested, they might fit the bill:

3) A body shop can paint them, but chrome is hard. Might be easier to just buy the chrome ones.

4) I can't see the picture, but if you body match paint it, it should look good. If you leave it chrome, I think it will be too much.

Thanx:) I have seen this vid before when searching utube for fx ideas. I do like the lights and his enthusiasm to make the fx his own. personally, I would pick some different side accents than factory just because I like to be a little unique, but his still look good. Agree about the discussion regarding the nerfbar- even my 5'1, 100lb self has no issues getting in... :p

la fx35- agree 100%- I knew it in my heart it would be cheesy, I just really want to give it those subtle unique touches- some side accents look sickly sweet. I will have to find another way and return the walmart stickons I purchased in my moment of newbie stupidity.

will think about the chrome some more, thats more than I expected. more importantly... wheels!!! switching the 18's for 20's... now what kind of wheels??? hubby wants blacked out- like matte black, me being a girl, likes me a little bit of chrome, maybe a good combo of the two? marriage IS all about compromise!

Thanks Chedman13- they are nice wheels no doubt- not sure if the hubby will like the diamond looking studding though-

-Don't really like the side vents at all on first or second gen but that's only my opinion. You should do what you like:wink (2):

-Roof rails can be altered. Painting them chrome can work if you got the $$$ I'd say around 600 for the pair after R&I, paint cost and labor. OEM aluminum ones will run about 2g wanted to go that route myself but that's too much coin. Used ones are slim to none, been looking for a while. I decided to paint my end caps and cross bars body color.002-2.jpg005-2.jpg

Since yours is black I picture shiney clearcoated rails and caps with aluminum cross member bars those I've seen at an affordable price, just take a stroll in Ebay.

-Black aluminum 20's with a brushed lip or accents. That IMO would look clean and mean! If your going for the murdered out look, Possibly a black grill or some tinted lens work in the back? Might be another project to add to the list.

Good luck! :iS:
