so here in Vancouver we usually get like 1-2" overnight, turns to rain in the morning and washes away...but this year, its been snowing since the 7th of Dec and its still going. Snow is awesome but FAK. LOL. Lowered FX + BARS freaking everywhere = constant scraping noises from underneath from snow and the nice clumps of that fall from cars is the best sound ever *DING*. And to make it worse...we had freazing rain last night so any of that soft snow we had is now ice.:wub: YAY. but the snow tires i bought this year have already paid for themselves so happy about that!!

i think the front bar is actually lower than the rear (ill have to measure), so the rear lateral bar doesnt really get hit by anything. and yea mud flaps get filled pretty quick, gets to the point where the whole wheel well is filled and only enough room is left for the tire to spin
I'm kinda hoping to see some snow when I go up next month... but I don't wanna deal with driving in that condition either... as long as there's snow up in Grouse Mountain (for the short half day snowboard outings), that's all I ask for... maybe a trip up to Whistler/Blackcome -the snow condition up there must be insane right now, huh?

ken, people don't know how to drive here. when they see snow they either drive ridiculously slow, like you can walk faster...or drive insanely fast cause they got SUV or 4x4. Grouse should have tones of snow right now...we have 1'+ on the ground at sea level and you can never go wrong with whistler

ps: There can never be too much snow. I would be up in Whistler every single day.

No doubt, this goddamn snow is the most here since 1964. An even crazier fact is that victoria, known as the mildest place in the country, had more snow in the month of December than anywhere else in N. America. Wild but true.
As for snow in whistler, it's just starting to get some good amounts, those first few storms that hit us a few weeks back barely skimmed wb. I have a season pass there but have only managed to get up there 1x, the early season conditions were horrible. Way better now but avalance warnings like a mofo. Headin up tomm or sat which should be excellent.
As for drivin in the snow, the newly acquired stock fx35 is great except the big tires tend to glide around too much. Although it's a friggen dream compared to my old accord which was buried in front of my house for a week. The first day I could, I dug er out and drive her straight to dealership to trade it in.
What really sucks is the black ice, doesn't matter if u have awd, fwd, 4x4, or 6x6. Ur gonna slide.

I would check with the weather condition first. Although it is going to rain for the next week, however, i remebered the road condition around the sea-to-sky highway (if you are going to Whistler) is not very good.
In addition, I heard on radio, you must have snow tire on sea-to-sky highway, polices are checking cars to see if you have snow tire or not. Otherwise, you will be forced to turn your way around. (Don't know if it is still in effect, that was on the radio like a week ago)

I feel your pain Krayzie. People in Vancouver doesn't know how to drive in the snow. It's ridiculous. You can see rear-wheel drive Mercedez try to go up a 30 degree hill (Royal Oak) with snow covering the road. Then eventually stuck at the middle of the road then police came and road block the entire street for couple hours. (No common senses at all) And 20km/hr on a clean road with bearly any snow on the ground. :sad:
MORE?! OMG, hopefully this madness will stop in 2 weeks... I don't want to be stuck in the condo the whole time I'm there :frown:
