Oil Catch Cans

After cleaning out the plenum and the entire intake, my miles per gallon jumped up by about 1.5 mpg! I went from 17.7mpg to 19.3 mpg. I'm on my third tank of gas since I cleaned out all the oil and the 19.3 mpg is holding steady.QUOTE]

wow, im getting like 14.5 right now, and pretty much always have been. My friends say I tend to drive aggresively though, I dont think I'm too bad.

and yea i dont know how i screwed up this post haha

I'm agressive too, but I do a lot of highway driving.

Are you using 91 or 93 Octane? That could be the problem. It's cheaper to use the more expensive gas, believe it or not!

My MPGs also went up with the intake, spacer and exhaust. After the transmission work it dropped a bit (17.7), but this cleaning just took me back to mpgs where I was before I got the tranny done (19.3). I was totally surprised. But the moral of the thread is -

oil catch could help stop sludge build-up in the intake, making it necessary to clean out your intake less frequently. Should help you maintain your engine efficiency longer.

There, now I didn't jack the thread!

Would one of these containers be big enough for wiper fluid? It could work though. I've used them for oil catch and radiator overflow on my old car; did a lot of shows which was why I installed them.

One thing if you get the radiator overflow. Some of them aren't vented which obviously will cause a problem. I had to drill a hole in the cap. This was after my car overheated one day and blew the hose off. I couldn't figure out why until I realized that it was the overflow tank.

My bad - power steering. And yes, the wiper reservoir is behind the bumper, but no reason you can't move it to make it visible especially if you have a nice reservoir container. I've seen a few show cars do stuff like this. Engine bay dress-up. Plenty of room under the hood for us 35ers.
