Official iS Paintball Outing!

Ron Kilbourne from Bushwackers was trying to get me to play for him for years....I liked starting my own teams and teaching the younger guys, so I always told him no. Ended up being a big mistake.

One day, the younger guys (my rookie level guys) decided to take over the whole team from me and only play rookie. We had 2 Amatuers and 6 rookie's. My plan was to play Novice with this team for 3 years and get REALLY good. (in case you dont know: rookie level is allowed only rookies....Novice level is allowed 2 amatuers....amatuer level is allowed 2 pros) Yeah the first year we were going to get our butts handed to us...but the next 2 years we would be extremely competitive .... They wanted it easier and left me, they took 2nd place in rookie, and disbanded shortly after. Great bunch of guys but wanted everything handed to them......just like every young tourney pball player. We were a CCPaintball sponsored team, and things were looking up when all this went down. This is one of the reasons why I haven't really played since tourney ball since, too much BS. Should have taken a spot with Bushwackers at D1 and just left my team myself.....but never saw it coming....oops

I think my ego (sorry mine isn't as fancy and doesn't have a name like yours Pierce!) is set for uncapped semi. I used to be able to shoot 21bps consistantly on an old DM3 and E-Orracle. With my hand the way it is...I think now I'll only be able to shoot around 11-13. It'll take a lot of practice and more PTherapy to get me higher.....so ramping it is!!

Sorry to hear it went down like that Andrew. Kids these days know nothing of gratitude, appreciation and hard work. You should have taken the Bushwackers offer! Hindsight is always 20/20 . I think when paintball becomes work the fun factor dies. Above all PB should be fun! Only reason I play.

At my age I would be lucky to shoot 15bps consistently in semi and as such I need the help of ramping, lol.

Me too...and I might have a couple buddies join us...one is pretty good...the other is a true newb...we'll have to teach him some things!

I consider him newb cause he hasn't played in 5 years....plus the only thing he played was woodsball. He gave me a story of him climbing a tree and shooting out everyone...lol he weighs like 280-300 no way....stories get bigger as fast as your waist does.

I think he has a Tippman or he'll borrow his brother's E-cocker. I think he has everything..I'll ask him to be sure.

Thanks Ken that would be a big help!

With all the rain we are supposed to get..(tomorrow and thurs) are the fields going to be a mess? I would hate to go out there and the fields are nothing but mud...

I have been checking the forecasts. It is supposed to rain tomorrow but clear the rest of the week so that should give the field enough time to dry out. But it will still be in the 50's throughout the week so I'm sure there may still be some wet spots. I will keep checking the weather to see if there are ant changes but I think we should be good to go.

On another note, Bert told me he caught the flu and will probably miss this Sat. Let's hope he gets over it quick.

Must have been all that taunting.....I stressed him out!

ie "Headshot"

sorry Bert, I promise I'll take it easy.....

Just a update. How many people do we have confirmed to go on Sat.? 6?

The weather report says that showers are expected for Friday night up here. Don't know how much but it may be a little or a lot and the grounds are already saturated from this weeks rain. So, we can change venues as the weather shows no rain for the lower LA basin. There is a private field here http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/spo/960503772.html but you need to call in advance for reservations. Its $25 for all day play and air. You basically play against other groups that also reserved the field. I believe the field is near Montebello. What do you guys think?

I'm in!

I have 2 buddies coming for sure, unless it rains on sat...then we all might be out. If we go to SC or Jungle (Loooong drive for Pierce), I can get 1 more to join us.

So I have 3-4 coming.

Is The Pit only 1 field? We're able to go anywhere as long as the ground isn't too messed up. So The Pit is ok with us....and I agree the field out by you might be a mess from the rain...

I just talked to Bob the owner of the Pit and so far he no one is reserved for Sat. So if we go there we might be playing just among ourselves which is fine by me too. He said 5-6 in our group was fine. Also, he is going to go there today to check the filed condition and will get back to me later but he did say the field drains pretty well. And yes I believe it is only one field. Does this sound good to everyone?
