It's commonly referred to as "Greeking" (at least it is in the entertainment industry). Most commercials, tv shows, and movies do not show companies' logos unless they pay/are paid to do so. For example, if someone is wearing a shirt with a Nike logo in a commercial for another product, Nike can make the claim that those advertisers were using Nike's reputation, etc to help promote or sell the advertised product. And many lawsuits have been filed on this basis. The advertiser/producer will use black gaffer tape (or whatever color the background is) and tape over the logo or a portion of it to "Greek" it out. It's the same thing with car emblems, cuz Infiniti is clearly not the manufacturer of that car chamois!
