OEM Rubber Trunk Cover/Mat

There's a difference between the first generation and the second generation. In the first gen the OEM mat actually has places for the Organizer to attach. There is also velcro on the organizer but it isn't meant for the floor - it's meant for the two flip-out rings on either side.

The mat - do you see the little retention tabs on either side? The organizer sits over those.

With the shape of the organizer it is pretty well retained even without the floor mat. The velcro is really so it doesn't fly around over bumps or in an accident. I usually don't use the velcro.

I can't recall the thread, but it looks very different. Try doing a search for their mats, there's a pic of them on a wheat color.

I ordered the OEM rear protector, and was angry when I got a fabric tray with holes in it. The dealer remembered the hard protector that I had seen in the accessories, but said they don't sell them anymore.

I'll probably buy the Weathertech protection set. I don't like dirty carpet in cars, and things in the trunk can spill (eg. groceries, recycling or trash), so I like the tall edges and waterproofness. I'll take off that brand logo sticker though.

Yep, "Waterproof", except for the holes they cut in it -- they don't even line up.

The photos they gave me when I bought are still up somewhere at least-

I just priced out the Weathertech mats. Turns out they charge an extra 80$ for not being in the US. I believe there are rats they can suck. Back to the old plan of patching the holes, and using black acrylic to waterproof the fabric.

.......
by the way, the 2 metal bars that the tonneau cover rests on, has anyone utilized it to use it has a holder for grocery bags?:tonguey:
........

That looks great! Such a nice tight fit. And excellent idea of using the bars in the back for bags. Like an S hook or one of those click climbing thingies (can't remember the proper name).
