OEM Air Intake Tube compatibility

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to this forum. I have a 2010 FX35 (that I LOVE) that just crossed 110,000 miles so I changed the spark plugs today.

Everything went well, but I noticed that the passenger side air intake tube has a crack (see pics), so I'm looking to replace it. I found a used tube on eBay for a QX70. Will this fit my FX35? The pictures on eBay look identical to mine, but I won't know for sure until I have it in hand. I know that the QX has a 3.7L engine and mine has a 3.5L.

Also, what is the black box attached to the hose? I'm still learning about this car.

Cannot say if it will fit. I would check part number & see if the same. Likely not though. That box is for sound insulation which connects to vacuum hose. Car wont run unless it's connected. This is coming from a guy who has first gen. We have the vacuum hose, but not that extra muffler box.

the QX70 is just a rebadged of the fx35 it's still the same SUV i'm sure your 2010 has the same dual intake so it should fit

Update -- the hose from the QX70 did not fit in my FX35. The hole for the muffler box was too small.

Thank God we got boots on the ground doing these experiments.

My experiment was finding out Fortin remote start doesn't work with adaptive braking.
