What OBD-II devices are cool? Cipher is cool, if I had turbocads pc set up that would be nice but I'm an IT guy at work and hate pc's in my personal life.

cipher is cool, but you can get most of the functionality of the ciper with stuff like this : http://www.palmerperformance.com/ the main thing the cipher has over something like this is the +2 bumpability...

they have a really cool DashXL editor application that lets you create the dashboard and add and position new objects. It is a proprietary editor, and does not support flash, but you can add picture objects (as many as you like) to help represent the dashboard you're after & skin the application... I want to build a dash like the new gtr gauges...

your looking for something that doesn't use a pc at all? what, like a handheld type scanner?

Was looking for something just plug in and monitor a few things. I have fuel pressure, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, boost, af all on other gauges and stuff.

I've seen a few scan type things that are compatible with the can system, but can't remember them.

I have this and it is pretty cool
///1480

I just talked to Joey at Scan gage and he said that he will accept a group buy. He said if we commit to buying 10 units or more, he'll be able to sell them at $150 Shipped. They will accept Paypal and you must mention the name "InfinitiScene.com"

You're gonna wait many years on this one. Doubt you'll find 10 on this board. More realistic if you get that number down to 3 or 4.

Huh, Ok. Thought others may be interested. I know Rookie was looking into it as well. I don't mind the extra $20, I figured the prices was good, others may jump at the savings.

I have my new Alpine W505 in the oem screen location for A/V stuff. I still have my flip out in the clock location, I'm lazy and don't really want to reach up to the oem location for nav so my nav is still on my flip out. If I send it into my nav I can route it to the oem location or keep it low.

Gonna check it out in person as soon as I can.

HKS Camp2 is the shiet!!!!!! Will have some pics soon. Defi sensors plug right in, reads a bunch of the on board sensors. For those with different sized tires there's a speedo offset which is gonna help me out a lot!

do you need the special consult harness there talking about for nissan or does it just plug into the obdII port?

does the speedo/odometer correction also correct the on board odometer or just the camp2 display?

looks like a sweet setup...

The consult harness is not needed, it's for non obd-ii cars. The offset is only for the speed the Camp displays.

I can now get rid of my Defi Link Display in the ashtray. It would display all the sensors except for boost from the Defi control box, but only showing a peak while it cycled thru the sensors. Hitting display would give you 2 sensors which made it not as instant of a monitoring set up as I wanted.

Have external sensors connected to the IF for oil temp, oil pressure, water temp. Probably going to keep the Defi boost and fuel pressure on the pillar since thet are vital to me and easy to read. Plan on adding a boost sensor for the Camp2 so I can data log it.

I wonder if that camp2 would be a good enough solution as a "replace the instrament cluster with a screen" type setup... if speedo & tach is easy access that could work... are the graphics & overall display control & usability good enough for that you think? if this was skinable it'd be really awesome:smile:

Looks awesome! Getting difficult to keep your eyes on the road now, huh? You sure got a lot to look at now.
