Noisy Sway Bar Links?

My Infiniti Dealer is adamant that the knocking at low speeds is my noisy sway bar links. They said the fender bolt knock tsb is not causing the noise. Has anyone else experienced noisy sway bar links? I cant stand it, considering it sounds like a bad strut tower. Thanks

lift the front end, get under the car and check all the bushings for play. If i recall i think sway bar end bushings need to be greased, maybe greasing them will help, ask your dealer

I think i have the same problem. When i'm moving slow and i apply the brakes, i hear this popping sound. But i hear it in the rear .

that would be an odd place to hear it considering the weight is being moved towards the front. however, not impossible. Check your brakes for any loose bolts. Sometimes calipers can shift slightly and cause that knock sound when they lock up.

As for greasing. i asked the dealer if they can be lubed and they said no, they would need to be replaced ($1500). Theyre not a safety hazard, just an annoyance so I'd like to grease them. Any advice on this DIY?

sway bar links can make a knocking sound. there not that expensive though, maybe 50-60 each from memory, shouldn't be that expensive to replace, not that much labor involved either...

they said "around 1500" lol. Theres a local import shop my Pops takes his S6 to so Ill contact them. Maybe they can keep it under 500$. Damn stealership

Im looking at them online and they look pretty small to be making all that noise. I can see how they could get loose also, Im going to lift the fx tonight and see if they need tightening. What kind of price would you expect to pay for just he front sway bar links?

Thats exactly what happened to me. I was almost sure it was the sway bar links
until I took it in for a break service, noise was completely gone.
I would of never guessed breaks would make that kind of noise.

Would like a confirmation if the sway bar end bushings needs greasing. Anything else on our fx needs greasing??

got my front sway bar links replaced today. i had that same really annoying noise about 8 months after my megan coils were installed. parts and labor was like 180 and solved the problem straightaway

Wow, this is reviving a very old thread, but since a question went unanswered... There are no grease fittings on the sway bar links on the FX - they are a cheap, wear part. They cost ~$20 each from Amazon and seem to have a life of roughly 60-75k miles.

It's a relatively easy DIY - just slightly more advanced than changing a tire as you have to adjust the jack to line up the holes to properly link the sway bar and the strut tower. I would not take it to Infiniti to have this done, if you aren't comfortable doing it, just have a local guy who lets you BYOP (bring your own parts) do it for you.

I been doing the same. I think being lowered puts added stress on them. I have been reading alot on different brands to choose from. I have narrowed it down to OEM, MOOG, Raybestos. There are other brands but i dunno about them. I went to rockauto to see my choices of quality.

I'm having the same knocking sound coming front my front passenger side when going over speed bumps or uneven road at slow speeds. I checked rockauto and it only shows 1 front stabilizer bar link, is that correct or should their be one on each side?
