I have a 2004 FX35 and the navigation system and radio/cd won't output any sound. When I start the car and the CD player starts to load the CD I hear a popping? type sound but I don't hear any sound. Any suggestions? It's all stock nothing has been changed.

The plug on the pack of the control interface might have come unplugged . You can pop out the whole thing with a plastic knife or something similar to check. Are all the light on in the buttons?

Sorry a little new to the car, when you say control interface you're referring to the audio system itself?(Where you put in the CD, change the volume, base, treble, etc.) The lights work, the Navigation works, just no sound coming from it or the radio.

Yes, referring to what your think about. Maybe try what i said if your comfortable with doin it. If not i guess take it to the dealership

Doesn't sound too difficult, just wanted to make sure we're on the same page. Now is there any clips holding? or can I take the plastic knife and place it at any end and slowly pull it out?

I wanted to know.. Is it right for every time I turn the car on that it asks me to press "I Agree" on the main screen for the GPS? I also ran the diagnostic and it asks if the CD Changer and IVCS is available. I usually check them both, but when it does the diagnostic it basically tells me the CD Changer doesn't exist when I'm looking right at it and have inserted CD's into it. I don't know what IVCS is though. I also checked some feature in the diagnostic and saw. "CAN-circuits 2 through 9 area UNKNOWN and can_comm and circ_1 are OKAY. Does this help in anyway to lead me in the right direction as to what the problem may be?

Alright so sorry this took so long. I finally took it to the dealership to let them diagnose it since I wasn't sure as to why it wasn't working. They basically told me the Rad/CD unit is bad and it'll be $700 to replace it. Sound likely or them trying to make money?

I checked some local junkyards and came up with one for about $550. Anyone know where else to look?

The exact cause of my issue that the dealership wrote on the invoice says:
"Found internal failure with the radio assy."

Alright so doing further inspection on my own, I think I can say I can rule out it being the assembly. I think it's the Factory Amp. The question is where is the factory amp located?(Not the spare tire one)

Well, Infiniti said it was my headunit and wanted $700, guys if they tell you that please check otherwise first. I took it to a car audio guy who said it's the amplifier, but said finding a replacement for this is too difficult and so he would put a new one in for me at $300. Eh I didn't really want a new one. After confirming it actually is the amplifier by taking it to another guy I went on the search for a Bose Amp for my year. I found one for about $150 and had it installed at $25. The Amp lives in the rear trunk of the vehicle to the right side underneath the plastic covers. Remove that Amp, some companies say they can repair it, but to my knowledge from doing research these Bose Amps are still being worked on and it's usually 50/50 that they are able to repair it because the schematics to this I believe are still unavailable. So best bet check ebay and junkyards and find one and replace it. Don't go with an after market one because more than likely soon after sometime you'll get what I am currently getting from my old Bose one. Why this is such even with an after market amp..I have no idea!

so i have a problem with the sound on my infiniti when i play the cd the sound goes off and on and sometimes the woofer goes off and on also. do you think it might be the same problem? which is the amp?
