No Power Steering

Saturday my fx made some squeals and some other quick noises.
After that my power steering is non existent-
I have power steering fluid
the belt is in tact
the pulley turns

3 questions-
1- is this likely a bad power steering pump
2-is it a easy fix
3-is it ok to drive around without power steering-reminds me of driving my 63 chevy c10

You can drive without the pump working. I think it calls for about an hour and a half labor from Infiniti. The pump is kind of expensive though...

Hey David. What was the problem when you got your power steering back working? Mine just did it today same symptoms as yours. Everything in tact and spinning with fluid so I don't know what it could be.

I just went through hell with the power steering. It was the pump that had gone out. I went with a cheap pump, lasted a month and decided to go with oem which cost alot (700) no problem since.. Runs like new, no noise or anything

$700? Was that from the dealer? They're like $450 online for OEM.
