Nitrous on FX45???

Nope-- Don't think it would be hard to do either...

Would you have it rigged up to a button or have it rigged to your pedal for when full throttle is depressed? Do you have any experience with nitrous?

I was thinking about this but I was suggested by Will (Psicline) and Pierce (Dr.2K) to stay away from this..

This mod would be the easiest way to blow your engine...

I was thinking of doing a 75 to 100 shot and the negatives out weighed the positives.....

I have a lot of expirence with nitrous as I own a performance shop. My biggest concern would be the internals of the engine. I have access to an LM1 wideband so that I could check A/F ratio. The biggest part of running nitrous is having enough fuel to match. If that is in check then nitrous is safe.

Did anyone ever end up doing this? I am running a 100 shot in my Z and the stock internals in the VQ are able to handle up to this. I have all of the safety mechanisms and it's a fun use when on the track for some quick power. Hmmm...maybe I should keep it instead of selling it and just put it in the FX..if I pick one up.

nope. well, nobody on the forums that is...

Run a window switch and a throttle position sensor. When it the nitrous is armed, it has to be between predetermined rpm set-points as well as foot the floor conditions. Its not quite as bad for on road application but you don't want a shot of nitrous at low rpm, high load, foot to the floor type situations. You also want the nitrous shutting off well before you hit the rev limiter. MSD makes the switch I'm talking about, but my experience is old school V8's, so not sure how you't incorporate it into a new rig. On my offroad V8, for the nitrous to come on I have to have my foot to the floor and be between 3200 and 5000 rpm. Rev limiter set at 5600.

Like CudaDave said, if you have enough fuel, nitrous is safe. Provided the internals will handle the extra 50-100hp.
