nissan quality guard plus

Folks,

so maybe I have paid too much, but for whatever reason I have decided to purchase the nissan's warranty for my infiniti... The plan is called supreme, but it doesn't seem to include much; on official nissan website there is actually quite decent number of items excluded [http://www.nissanextendedwarranty.com/warranty/nissan_qualityguard_plus_supreme.html]

My dilemma is whether to keep it or not.. I still have extra 40k miles of coverage;) but I have heard that it doesn't reimburse the 100% of part price + there is a $100 deductible

did anyone willingly purchase this kind of protection?:)

thanks,
chris

I declined when they offered this option to me, most of the coverage stipulates basic maintenance, and doesn't even include oil changes, might be different for the supreme. But the cost and what they covered didn't compel me to dish out another several hundred bucks to buy it. I have manufacture's warranty until 2013 because this was a CPO car. You may or may not still have the basic manufacture's warranty.

Tamade,

Same here; I have my car for close to two years now; I recently noticed the power train warranty increased to 72 months ;) I'm considering cancellation; since I'm half a way there, there will be some money back ;)
I'm just considering my options, whether it pays of to get the money and cancel this "worthless" warranty

I don't want to be the one to tell you to get your money back and then have something happen to your FX. But only you would know if there are any underlaying problems with your car. Whether your engine is surging, transmission issues, unknown noises, it is really at your discretion to cancel the "added" protection.

yeah, I know; I was hoping to get the others' feedback. I figured that I can cxl it now and get some money back. weird but it doesn't seem like anyone else has this warranty.

I spend the money saved on a warranty on preventative maintenance -- I take good care of my car.

The car has been bulletproof for me, 110k miles and counting.

I never bought extended warranties, only for my BMW which I know everything goes wrong on it. It cost me $2,000 I think and paid for itself in full the 2nd day... (granted inflated BMW labor and parts prices). I paid $50 for the deductible.

Chedman13,

I got concerned lately, once I started to tune my vehicle a bit; but generally infiniti doesn't seem to break that often and it still has the warranty...
;>
it is difficult choice to make..;)

Bring it over to the trusted mechanic and have him perform an inspection, not sure if the money you get back is more than the diagnostics. But if he says everything is good to go, I'd cancel the warranty get my money back. That's probably your best bet, have him do a compression, leak down test, and anything else your warranty actually covers. Everything else is out of your pocket anyways.
