Hello All,

I've been reading some of the wonderful threads for months and found a lot of info and mods which I have done so far. I cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am for the knowledge you guys provide.

Just installed a Nismo Cat-back this weekend and waiting for my stillen strut bar to arrive on the 8th.

Few Questions:

1. How do I get some low-end gains? I really cannot seems to get anywhere under 4krpm.

2. Is it true that Plenum Spacers are meant for Cooler Climates and don't work in SoCal?

3. I see a lot of ads on ebay for Grounding Kits and Voltage Stabilizers. How do they help?

You must pardon my ignorance if you have already answered these else where. I'd appreciate pointing me to the links.

Thanks.

Welcome to :iS:!!!

as to your question regarding grounding kits... here's a quote from Dr2k (scroll down pass the pictures for comments)

This is a repost of my earlier mod of this kit from the org. Could possibly help others here on the scene.

I recently added a grounding kit to my FX. It is from Gordon Gee and made specifically for the FX45. He does alot of these kits for the G35 and Z's. Here are some pictures.

This kit is the 8 cable performance series model made of 4 gauge cables with high quality solid copper terminals and oxygen free wire strands plated to resist oxidation.

My experience with the kit is so far very positive. It won't give you any real jolt in performance, but I feel it has made my FX much much smoother overall mechanically. The shifts are smoother in all gears and seems more responsive. The installation was pretty straight foward and not too difficult. The most difficult cable was the tranny as it was very....should I say clausterphobic under the FX with only the jack holding it up, lol, definately not for the faint of heart. Anyways, just thought I would share this mod for anyone interested in such a kit. Enjoy

Grounding kit.

Thanks it helps a lot. I do feel a kick when shifting gears at high RMP. You think it will help it?

A plenum spacer will help out a bit in the midrange. I have the 1/2 inch spacer but I heard that the 5/16 will kick in sooner. In SoCal i dont think the Iso-Thermal will help out that much.

Welcome to the scene! I see the guys have already directed you to the right places. Have fun modding the FX.

Welcome to :iS:

I have just installed the ISO thermal spacer (5/16) on my FX35 and I can already feel a difference in the lower end.
I am also planning on a under drive pulley, that will also help allot on the low end.
with the intake and exhaust mods, anything that helps the low end would really be felt.

Thanks Guys, here's what I got so far.

Eibach Springs, Jim Wolf Pop Charger, Stillen Z-Tube, Motordyne 5/16 Plenum Spacer, Nismo Exhaust, 25mm front, and 35mm Rear spacers rolling on a set on 22's. Stillen STB arriving on tomorrow. I have my eyes set on a set of Headers/Downpipes.

Is it correct that a under drive pulley will put strain on the Transmission? I was following a tread and they were jocking around a lot, so I wasn't sure. Last think I need is to loose my transmission.

Funny, that's what I baught. From JC. I'm meeting him to pick it up today. He sold it to me for $199. I hope I get to see his FX.

Dont forget to get a tune. Best thing you can do without FI for more power once all the mods go in.

Sheesh .. How long have you had your FX?

Welcome to :iS: .. You're definitely in the right place for mods.

The underdrive pulley will underpower the accessories in the car. But if you're not running a big audio system it shouldnt be an issue.

Welcome to :iS: .. You're definitely in the right place for mods.

Bought my FX in 2005 new. Originally in did not want to do any mods, but it's become a disease. I made a mistake in the Motordyne spacer, I have the 1/2" not 5/16 also, I did not mention some of the small mods like the 8000K HID's, angle eys, Projector Fog's, Mesh Front Grill, and Momo Shift knob.

It's great being here. thanks.
