Newbie in TX

Hi guys,

I've been reading a lot of posts here since I bought my 09 FX recently. I'm very new to the car customization area and was hoping everyone here could help me out.

I would like to get some black rims 20 or 22's on the stock tires the car comes with. I dont know the first thing about it though. I've seen a lot of talk about spacers and offsets, and I dont even know a quality rim when I see one or where to buy them.

If anyone has some advice for a newbie rim buyer please speak up!!

My advice to you is to exhaust yourself reading threads here on IS about what you are interested in. Use the search feature, look at photos and decide which direction you want to go.
 
What's up Mark! "hookembtch" kicks ass BTW. Glad to see you in the forums :wink (2):. There are some 09's in the forum that have photos with aftermarket wheels on them. take a look around. You might even learn something about your car that you never knew.

I think i saw another 09 here that had some black/grey forgestar wheels on it. looked really good. As far as quality/price goes, the "forged" wheels are more expensive but the trade off is they are lighter and stronger. There are a bunch of online wheel retailers that sell wheel and tire packages. Most of them do free shipping, no tax, and mounted/balance included.

I think if you shop around you'll be able to find a good deal. but finding the right wheels is the first step. Alot of times, the guys here sell their old wheels in the classified sub forum. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I played here from 5th-12th grade. Did you know anyone from the Dallas area schools on your team? I bet I know of at least one person.
