back in '99 whenever i did an upgrade for my maxima, that's the place I go first to semi-test it out, then GMR :D
I remember when we used to go up there and at the fork, there would always be hachiroku's doing figure 8s, and at max there would only be 10 cars. We always drove when visibility was less than 2 feet, and I almost hit the side of the mountain once when the lovely yellow stripe disappeared under a pile of mud. The Scenery is especially nice when you get there early enough to watch the fog roll from the bottom of the mountain to the top, engulfing you into a hazed darkness.
unfortunately, i stopped going to GMR when i saw a celica go off the cliff on '00. I never knew what happened to the driver, cause cops completely blocked off the grand ave entrance and we had to canyon all the way to Rancho Cucamonga to get out without getting a ticket/towed..
