Newb question bout headlights ??

Hi all!
first off wanna start by saying thanks to everyone on IS. you guys have helped us new fx owners a $hit load! (at least for me) :laugh:

so neways, I just bought my 05 fx35 a couple weeks ago and had some newbie questions about my headlights..
I was thinking bout getting the angel eyes at first but after reading posts throughout the forum it seems like its too big a of a pain for what might be played out by the time i figure out how to install them :k:

so i decided that i wanted to stick with HID..
I wanna go with 6000k brightness for ALL my headlights, fog lights, and dtrls...

in order to do this, is it best for me to get...
(and i apologize in advance bout not having any links to the items i was looking at.. since this is my first post i cant put in any links...):sad:

HID D2S headlights KIT (such as; 50W/55W HID Xenon Conversion Kit D2S 6000K)

OR... should i just get a pair of 6000k D2S headlight BULBS?


For the fog lights I was definitely going to get a HID kit but i wasnt sure what wattage i needed.. will a 35W 6000k match my headlights?


And last for the dtrls... can anybody recommend me anything that would match what I'm trying to get above?


Sorry for the long post.. I'm sure these questions have been asked and answered before but there seems to be soo many options it got me all confused.. and plus it gives me a good reason to finally post something :.smile:

doesnt the 05 come with stock hid? just switch it out for the 6000k bulbs

as for the DTRLs I did some research seems like its impossible to get an exact 6000k match and aftermarket one seems to occasionally cause the fuse to go. too much trouble imo but i guess the LED are pretty cheap u can get a pair see if you like it if not u can either stick with OEM or just run without any dtrl like i do
 
just get the 6000k D2S bulbs , not the kit for the HL. The HID kit would be best for the foglights.

also 6000k will match best with most white LED bulbs you find. the more LED the brighter (usually).

I had 6000k HL bulbs, but have 5000k on them now. I just wanted to "see" more.
 
You don't need a HID kit for the headlights just change them out to 6000k bulbs. As for the fog lights all you will need is to get a 6000k HID kit to match with the new 6000k bulbs.

sounds good, i'm gonna try to find a good pair of bulbs on ebay and an HID kit for my fog lights..

I think i'll try out the LED for my dtrls too..
any suggestions on type or brand?

just finished buying all my lights and should be coming in within the next week or so. can't wait to see how they look once i install them :biggrin:
