just wanted to say hey and introduce myself. I am Taylor from Nashville, TN and i drive a 2000 Lexus GS300 but I am trying to sell it and get an FX45. My budget can just cover enough to get a 2003 or 2004. What would be the best year between the two to get one?

were there ever any problems?

Surprisingly, no major issues in the first year of the model. Whichever is better price for the mileage, and meets the color specifications you may or may not have, grab it!

Keep in mind the Laser Red is a very rare color.
 
welcome and good luck on the switch. I suggest the 06+ models if possible, since it's updates a bit.

yeah i really want a black fx with the saddle/orange interior. but i've had some trouble finding it. it's good to know the first years werent problematic. I definitely need NAV as i will be commuting from South Carolina back to TN for visits when i'm on breaks for college.

well if you know anyone looking for a pristine GS let me know. I need to get rid of it ASAP. I am really itching for an FX.

I have the 03' FX35, and no problems whatsoever with the engine/drivetrain. If you care more about the drive than the interior design, then the 03' model is perfectly okay, and save yourself some money. From 03' - 06', there isn't much difference in exterior looks, save the money and go with 03'!
