New to this Scene...yes, cheezy.

Anyway, so I'm dropping in to say hello.

I've owned a few cars in the past, all japanese, love them for some reason.

I'm looking to get in to a new car, whenever mine dies out (02 Suzuki XL7).
The list as of now goes: STi, WRX, FX35/45.

I'm not gonna ask any questions for a while, probably do A LOT of reading. I know how irritating a noob can be asking redundant questions (pretty active on IWSTI.com).

I love the way FX's look and sound, even stock they sound better than a STi. That's basically why I'm here, to get some info, would love to mod, already have the damn bug.

Hi Scuby, welcome to the site.
There is lots of info here.
My last 5 vehicles have been Nissan/Infinitis. I have had 2 Maximas and now 3 Infinitis. You can't go wrong with an FX.

Haha, that's a tough one. IMO, FX are the best looking SUV's(am I okay to call them that?) out there, X6 falls pretty close though.

yeah it's an SUV. just don't call it a truck haha...

basically just look at what you want out of the car. insane modded/fast go for the suby....luxurious and quick but a beast......FX

Haha, k.

I'm not even going to start comparing the two cars, not a chance. I know what the subies have to offer.

A sportier SUV w/ the ability to do some light/moderate modding is quite appealing, however.

Like I said, the order of preference goes STi, WRX, FX45, FX35. Preferably the 1st gen, don't think those new headlights have grown on me. I just need more info if the first two fall through.

Thanks for the welcomes :)

Thanks for checking in man and welcome to IS, if the ride doesn't get you in the insane comradery will suck you in.....my 2 cents, the FX is an amazing all around vehicle, it can haul some ass and still haul the mail.

Haha, thanks.

I only got my 190 pound self to haul around usually, maybe a couple friends. Hauling ass is my way to go.

Mostly looking to do the performance end of the spectrum; I've come from an STi, Speed3, and RX-8, so (minus the RX-8) luxury is just a little thing sitting in a corner for me.

So, no manual tranny for these cars, huh? Dang.

Some members have done the manual switch. Turbo cad makes a truly effective set of paddle shifters that are great for track (and twisty) use. I'd like a manual tranny as well.

Agreed, paddle shifters are quite a bit of fun, but can't beat the actual shifter.
Something tells me a manual tranny means some serious bank.

TC's paddles shifters you would have to try, they are slick..... If you search there MAY be a thread on the manual swap but yeah I don't think it comes cheap :)

Rookie has a traditional manual shifter. He's also got a hand operated E-brake...that's totally something that should have come from the factory. That dropped widebody FX you see on top of this page (now blue) is Rookie's. There are several members who have radical mods here.

Welcome to IS, Scubynewbie! Happy reading and keep posting. Good luck on your decision.

I'll be heading over to member journals today, DJ. Thanks.

Thank you StuLax18, trying to take this all in. I think I have the general feel for things, companies to go with, etc.
