Like I'm sure many of you, I have always been fond of Infiniti's blend of style and performance. I recently was fortunate enough to be promoted at work and was looking for an upgrade on the '04 Accord I had been daily'ing.
I previously had a 2012 G37x in Smoky Quartz / Wheat but was traveling so much that the G's fuel economy and thirst for premium gasoline was burning a whole in my pocket. I needed some cash due to my personal situation at the time as well, so I made the tough decision to downgrade to a more fuel efficient vehicle that was already in my ownership.
Now that I am in a better spot and not traveling as often, I started looking at FX/QXs since it provides all the benefits of an SUV crossover while having sports car-esque performance. Plus, I always thought it was one of (if not the) best looking car Infiniti ever built. I quickly found out that these cars are becoming an extremely rare breed (at least clean titles with low mileage and a history of somewhat regular maintenance) and decided to conduct a national search. I am not much of a fan of current generation cars that are turbocharged/hybrid, overstuffed with "tech" that is essentially choppy software designed to become obsolete and is not owner friendly to maintain.
I do realize that the FX/QX was largely untouched from 09-17ish, but part of me likes that because these cars are clearly from an earlier era, an era the 3.7L platform being so common across the Nissan/Infiniti lineup, there is not a huge concern with finding parts down the rode either.
To make a long story short, I fell in love with the Midnight Mocha ext. / Java int. combo and was able to source a one owner, low mileage, full dealership service history 2014 QX70 from a state out west where there is no rust. I am very happy, and am joining because I would like to talk shop and make a few upgrades here and there.
Thanks!
