New to the FX but not to the VQ

Hey guys I'm a new member here. I just sold my 2003 Z33 350Z and bought a 2006 FX35. I'm use to hang out around my350z.com but have been branching out looking for a good FX site to learn more about the car. From what I can tell there are few current or ex. Z owners around the FX boards. I'm looking forward to reading what you guys have to offer on this site.

Welcome to the Scene. There are a very few sites that can truly help you in whatever direction you might want to take your FX.

Everyone here has a great attitude in sharing what they have done to their FX and are willing to share it with you.

I love the Gs and Zs, from hanging out at my350z and g35driver I've learned a lot.

Welcome to the scene, hopefully you find the info or get the answers you're looking for. The FX is a great vehicle to move over to.

Thx all for the welcome. I'm really liking the FX even though the AT is a bit of a downer. My plan was getting a nice SUV that I don't have to mod anymore but looks like I screwed up again after looking around this forum. :)

So what'd you do to the 350Z performance-wise?

Well not a whole lot performance wish becuase I was moding 2 cars at the same time. (03 350Z and 04 S2K..bad idea)

I kinda screwed up because I never got around taking latest pics because my camera died. I added a whole lot more the last 2 months before I sold it. (I'm in the process of camera shopping now too :( ) I'll post pics of my FX when I get her cleaned and washed (It's been raining like crazy here in Dallas). For now here's some old pics:

I'm going to try my best not asking stupid noob questions so bare with me if I seem a bit uneducated in the ways of the FX. My350Z.com was brutal with the "search first before asking" motto so maybe that should help.

Yeah I was reading over at FX.org and it seems like this site just split off from it? I'm new to your boards so I'm not sure how things went down around the FX community.

I love the Volk GTS', beautiful designed wheel. I couldn't imagine modding 2 cars at once. Especially sports cars, the suspension stuff starts to add up quickly.

Tell me about it!! We the S2K is sold also and if things go well this weekend I'll be in another FX. (Please see my other thread for the whole story)

Yeah the GTS in the 9.5 10.5 under +20 is not gonna fit right. They are pretty much my favorite Volk wheel. Didn't know you were selling the S2K, family needs or?

Saw the thread on the incident with the dealer. Very happy you're sticking to your guns and getting an FX.

My Volks were 19x9.5 +17 and 19x10.5 +18 on 255/35/19s and 285/35/19s. I had to roll the rear fenders to make them clear. Not a big deal though.

Well I got my 03 Z in Jan 04 and then a 05 2.5 Altima as a DD. Found a great deal on the S2K (I use to have a 95 B18C5 hybrid EG in college so I have a soft spot for Hondas) and couldn't pass it up. My plans were to make the Z a TT 1/4 mile monster and the S2K a track car. Well after starting the modifications I found out that my budget didnt fit 3 cars and a house . Sold the S2K in about a year (broke close to even on it) and kept the Z. I didn't start modifying the Z until I paid it off. Well after owning the Z for awhile and realizing how much it would cost to TT one of these things properly (Greddy TT with built motor on HKS Fcon and good tune) I knew it wasn't in my best financial interest to go down that path. I started a side business earlier in the year and the Altima just wasn't cutting it anymore. That is why I am wanting a FX.

My favorite volks style also! I would love to have a set for the track.

They're not the best track wheels. The GT series are all forged barrel with cast face making each wheel with tires about 54 lbs. My 1/4 track time slowed down when I switched to these wheels. If you are tracking it's best to go with a 20 lb wheel like the fully forged monoblocks TE37s, CE30s, or LE37s. For the FX I'm still researching and learning what's the best plus size application.

Dr2k has 19" Nismo LMGT4s

The costs related to a built TT VQ35 is staggering, doing it in stages helps but man the old while you're in there motto starts to eat away at the overall budget.

I had a LS/VTEC 92 Integra 4 door so I can dig the high rev Honda soft spot.

Nice rides you've had.
Speaking of Hondas, I had a shiny red G1 teg LS, bought new (wow, that was a long time ago). I loved that car.
