Hello,
Looks like an intro is required, which is actually pretty cool. In an effort to not be too short and give no background, I will inevitably go too long, but here goes...
Just found this site tonight as I was searching for how to replace the Welcome Lights that exist underneath each side mirror. I am a little more familiar with InfinitiForums site as i have clicked around it a bit, but not a member as i hadn't found anything useful on it as of yet. But I did on this site so I joined.
Anyway, didn’t find that under mirror info yet, but I did see a link to some lights by each front door handle.(?). I had no idea those existed! (Still don’t actually -I haven’t looked yet. I wanted to watch video on this site first.)
Previous Infiniti’s include a 2006 1st gen FX35 that I recently traded in on my current 2009. Had the calipers off the 2006 rear driver side as I had thought that was what was causing my wheel to drag a bit and the rotor to heat up. But I checked and tested the caliper piston and all was fine and then I noticed a lot of play in my wheel when jacked, so I knew it was the hub. Since it also needed new tires, the expense wasn’t worth it to me so I instead towed it to dealership and got a fair price on trade for the 2009 2nd gen, which is awesome looking.
Before those two cars, I also owned a ‘96 J30. So suffice to say I loved Infiniti’s. But now in the past few years since getting rid of FX moniker, they seem to have lost their styling edge, at least to me. Anyone feel the same?
I did see a recent article in MotorTrend showing their electric concept vehicle coming in 2020/21 that looks very cool. In the article the design engineers allude to it being based on the FX and how they loved that car. So maybe good things ahead.
My other current vehicles are a Ford Expedition as i have a bigger size family and then a 79 Jeep CJ 7. Old school.
That’s it. Thanks.
