Just wanted to say a quick hello. Just picked up an FX45 for the winter (tough winters in Metro Detroit). Please don't get confused with my user name. I mainly drive Corvette Z06 during the summer, spring and fall. However, this FX45 has gotten more seat time than the Z06 lately.

Anyways, I have found this site more informative than the others. Looking forward to browsing the scene!

I like the new GTR way more than the newer style C6 Z06, but the transmission problems that are sprouting up everywhere (whether Porsche slander or not), are getting so out of hand that it seems the more reliable car would win out in my books. :top:

hah, just realized that I'm referring to a domestic being more reliable than an import... shucks, the end of the world really is coming :ooh:

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'll post pics as soon as I sign up for photobucket. As for the few comments on my Z06. I have a 2003 C5 Z06 hardtop. I can't stand the normal C6 (but I'll probably end up buying a C6 Z06 in the future...more aggressive styling, tighter suspension and 100 more HP compared to the regular C6). And to comment on the FX that can beat up on corvettes, I hope he can do low to mid 12's in the 1/4 mile to keep up :wink:. 405 HP + 3116 lb curb weight = Fun. If he can take me, more power to him. But this isn't Z06vette.com, so enough on my vette.

However, this is my first Foreign vehicle (go figure as a Korean in Metro Detroit). I used to run a modded Rustang Cobra when I was an engineer at Ford. If I were to go with all foreign vehicles (especially Japanese), I'd probably get lynched around here. After all, I do live in Metro Detroit. There will always be an American Rear Wheel Drive V8 in my garage.

As I mentioned, my FX45 is getting more seat time lately and I absolutely love it. I was torn between the Trailblazer SS and the FX. The FX is THE BEST looking and performing SUV by far and the design will stay fresh for years to come. I'm just looking forward to slapping some Bridgestone Blizzak's on the 20's so I can tread through 10" of snow.

Welcome. You certainly made the right decision with the FX45. Admittedly, there are faster SUVs out there but none better for handling or responsiveness. And that includes the Cayenne imho.

I'm new to the IS as well. Learned a lot in the past few day too. I got my FX last Summer and I use to hate driving since I was on my Ducati 748 all the time beating gas and traffic but theres nothing better than a FX. The 1st Crossover that feels and drives like a sports car. Looking to do a lot of mods in the next year so stay tuned for my transformation my my FX to a Whip. Welcome to th SITE Bud!:cool::iS:

Welcome new members! I too am new here. I've seen lots of nice rides and have even read up on rookies FX on another website somewhere. I just purchased a bone stock '06 FX35 (AWD) and I absolutly love it! I like the sound of the stock exhaust 'cause it has a quiet purr but I want some mods under the hood. starting with air... i've read about motordynes lower collector, 5/16" and 1/2" spacers, upper plenums, and about every cold air intake out there. Any suggestions on these items like what to buy first?
