New to IS - 2005 FX35 AWD with issues

Hello. I'm new to the site with a 2005 FX35 AWD and now having issues. I started having bubbling on my dashboard last summer and decided to Google how I could fix it. Then I came across this site and saw that there are a lot of people with the same issue. So I had mine replaced for free about a week ago following the suggestion to call Consumer Affairs. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning of more issues. As soon as I got home, I heard weird noises from the telescopic steering wheel. The dealer said that it has nothing to do with the dashboard being replaced. Today (1 week later) my controls for the radio and heater are no longer working. The radio is on but the volume is so low it's hard to hear. The heater is still on but it's so hot in the car I now have to open the windows for relief. I am unable to adjust anything. I read other posts and it seems like after their dashboard was replaced they had the same type of issues. My car was perfect before I had the dashboard cover replaced. Currently, the automatic control to adjust the telescopic steering wheel is off to avoid the noise (even though I loved this feature) but I'm not sure what to do with the heater. Any suggestions?
 
Sounds like cutting corners putting the dashboard back in. Assuming you had all this work done at an Infiniti dealer, l would call up and talk to the Manager ASAP.
 
Def call and talk to the manager and if that does not work contact corporate office.
 
Sound and heater controls is probably caused by a bad connection of the front faceplate when the dealer was in a hurry to reinstall it. If you pull off the front faceplate of the stereo, you will see a ribbon cable(be EXTREMELY careful with this cable) and another wire connection. The other wire connection has about 10 small wires attached to it. This connection controls your heater, ac, and stereo volume. Not the ribbon cable, the ribbon cable controls the tape deck if you have it and CDs changer controls.

You can take off the front faceplate by just grabbing underneath the faceplate right above the clock and pulling towards you. There are about 4-6 small clips holding it in. No screws, just tight clips.

As for the telescopic starting wheel, it's probably the plastic bushings inside that are worn out.

Yes i think the culprit maybe the radio face plate as mentioned above. When i was putting my ipod module for the car i also had a similar problem and when i checked the ribbon cable or some other were barely connected.

When reconnected all worked fine !!!
