New to community and Infiniti.

Yup our cars don't have that locking feature, my old VW did:thumpdown:. I am pretty sure there is some way of getting the feature..with my viper alarm it auto locks and unlocks.

white car, black wheels... is such a nice setup...

+1. I'm a sucker for that look also.

fxlr8,

If you come across a way of activating this feature I would love to know!

I was just about to recommend what Stu just did. That guy @ KPT makes all kinds of modules for different functions that you wanted to have stock.

I feel bad for not putting it in yet, but I had no reason to put it in since I hadn't put schmurbos on yet, but he made a module for brake-boosting where it changes a solid brake signal into a single pulse to the ECU so that:
1. The ECU knows the brake signal still works and won't throw a code like it normally would after not seeing an input from the brakes in XX miles
2. The ECU doesn't know you're holding the brake down so it won't limit your RPMs while either trying to launch or trying to brake boost (artificially load turbos to give you positive boost while cruising).

Oh and welcome! Join up on the regional forum (under RiSC, it'll either be MWFX or MWiS, we're voting on that now)

Edit: on the KPT website, it's item # SS20 for the speed-sensitive auto-lock and item # DL20 for the auto-lock and relay pack item # RP20. You must use all 3 together to get the speed-sensitive auto-lock on an Infiniti, and I'm pretty sure it's adjustable to whatever speed you want it to lock at.

Total: $94.97 + S&H

They're from Ohio and these modules are about the size of an iPass or smaller, so shipping shouldn't be much.

Guys quick question while I have you here:

I think I covered the owners manual twice but with all the damn gadgets included in the FX I find it hard to believe that it doesn't have a speed-sensitive door lock function? For example, when the car is put in D or when it reaches a certain speed (5mph) the doors automatically lock for you.

Or I am just missing it in the electronic settings options??
No speed sensitive locks but there is the auto lock timed option with adjustable time set for door lock.:top:

just a quick note on the Auto Lock. My wife's QX56 has it. It locks the doors, but it does not unlock, which is annoying.

I asked the dealer why it does not have it, and they said that they don't like to do that since when you pull the handle the doors don't open. This means that if you get trapped in the car and want to quickly get out, you have to first unlock the door before it opens. I think it was the first thing that came to his mind to say, and it was bull.

i've heard that some people dont like the auto lock because they are scared they will get trapped. apparently women/moms are against it. i guess it has something to do with kids and getting them out of the car. maybe there arent alot of reports of people running up to cars and getting in them compared to people getting trapped in their cars? i like the tahoe set up, locks at 15 mph or so and unlocks when put in park or key is removed, not sure which, but im about 75% sure its when the key is removed.

Isn't that for when you exit the vehicle and do not lock the doors, it then automatically locks them for you at the set time? Or am I thinking of something else?

BTW guys, I think I'm going to go for that KPT unit. I will report back when it's installed.

THe auto lock thing -

is when you use the remote to unlock the doors and after XX amount of time if none of the doors were opened it locks the car.
