Hello group. I found an amazingly well loved 2016 QX70S about 3 weeks and bought it. I've always loved this vehicle and the "s" model especially. I've got audio upgrade planned for the 20th, then exhaust and a dyno tune. Nothing crazy, but a little more oomph. Grateful to be a QX owner and look forward to learning from the group.20200712_163935.jpg

The Ark Grip is the best one that I'm aware of, but hearing a few on here reported drone at around 2500 rpm. One guy said, it is unbearable while a couple said to use the manual shift to avoid or lessen the drone. Ark having a 25% off until end of the month. I'm so tempted, but a bit held back on the drone.

Welcome! Glad to see people still look into buying these vehicles
Definitely a great choice with AP exhaust. I've had it for about 5yrs and going strong. Cannot get enough when it sings, its addictive! Before installing, I ceramic coated every component very thoroughly (except the tips). There was a bit of drone at low rpm, but over time it has lessened quite a bit, or I've gotten used to it lol
But you won't regret the exhaust thats for sure. Post some pictures, it'll be great to see what you're building. I also changed the to Hawk HPS5.0 pads and DBA T3 4000 "kangaroo paw" rotors all around - which I recommend if you haven't already.

Don't get your hopes up on the dyno, the gain may have been noticeable on a miata, but not this beast.. You may get a smoother curve though.

What audio upgrade do you have planned?

Do you have any recommendations for someone that doesn’t wanna get a whole exhaust system. I want mines to sound a little bit louder like my 06 fx35 but also don’t want to spend 2500$ on a whole exhaust system

Sorry I dont know any mufflers. The catback AP Grip is about $1600USD right now on a promotion as pointed out above. its money well spent.

High flow cats might give the exhaust a bit more bark.

I’m one of the guys who took my Ark Grip off after 1,000 miles. It was awesome 90% of the time, and awful the other 10%.

ymmv

Thanks I’ll look around for something. Would you have any suggestions?

Ah right! Yours was the earlier version where the resonator was right after flex pipe. I wonder if the drone any less since they move the resonator after the x-pipe; which is similar to the stock exhaust setup.

Welcome and let’s see what audio upgrade you did. I need to replace my speakers

I wonder the same thing. Ark’s website doesn’t mention anything about the changes.

it looks like Invidia and Kinetix make them for the QX70. Berk and ISR Performance make them for the 370Z, which are probably interchangeable with the QX.

I have no info beyond that. Reviews and other info is quite hard to come by in my experience.

Bullet Valve axle back is another exhaust alternative I've found. Nice sound, not as aggressive as what the ARK sounds like in the videos I've seen.
I'm putting in Audison 6.5 components up front (tweeter to be mounted in the A pillar), audison 6.5 coax in the rear doors and the Cerwin Vega subwoofer. For right now I'm keeping the Bose midrange in the dash. Going to see how it all plays together before I decide to replace them Audison doesn't make a direct replacement. I know the Bose won't be timber matched to the audison but nothing will be unless Audison makes a 2" speaker.

Not expecting huge increase with a tune, more than anything I hope they can tune the transmission a little. it's slow and softer than I'd like.
