2012 ML350
When are they gonna come out with a truly new, redesigned QX70? It seems that this current chassis platform has been basically around since 03. I sold my FX35, and replaced with ML350, but miss the driving characteristics of the FX. Waiting to see if the new QX will be interesting or not, but it seems like all they do is make small cosmetic tweeks each year to the QX and that's all.

09 had a major revision. Generally considered 2 generations. That said, it's still a while for this platform. I think the next generation is due for 2018.

I've been waiting on the next generation as well. I've been well overdue getting a new ride and cant wait to see what's coming out next year !!!!

I've been close to getting a RRS, Porsche Macan, Jaguar F Pace in the recent year but have been patient since they're not exactly what I was hoping for !?! We'll see !?!?

To me, the 09 revision seemed very minor. Yes, the interior was redone and exterior massaged, but still very much like the 1st Gen IMO. It'll be interesting to see how they update it for 18. Hope they don't mess up the look too much.

By this logic the EX is a FX too since it looks similar
09-17 is a completely different car on a different chassis

What? Its a completely different car. Every body panel, and component is different, different engine, different transmission, the list goes on. How you manage to consider that "minor" is beyond my realm.

The days of seeing completely different cars generation to generation is pretty much over. We see it with the Camry, Civic, Accord, Mustang, escalade, etc. We've reached a point in automotive design where we have pretty much plateau'd. The car needs to have certain features to be a car, 4 wheels, a number of doors, up front it generally has an engine, the front has holes for a radiator and some lights, in the back there is access for storage, and lights for people behind you to see.

Motor trend had a very good video recently on this, their general conclusion was exactly the above, the days of generation to generation leaps are pretty much over, by and large the tech in automobiles has reached maturity, and from now on it's more a general process of refinement from generation to generation. Their great example was between the new s-class and the 7 series, they pointed out how neither car's new generation added anything substantial to the car aside from gimmicks in tech (they pointed out the ridiculous gesture control in the 7 series).

This is true but 1st n 2nd gen looks totally different.

I too am looking for a new gen fx. From 2005 fx45, 2013 audi Q5.

Im not a huge fan of the new nissan/infitis curvature like designs. Too aerodynamic wannabe type of design.

Not to offend anyones taste....

There was a whole debate when the new 2nd gen came out like which one looks better ... hahaha miss fx

For sure Infiniti will put the 3.0 twin turbo engines 300hp/400hp in the 3rd gen FX. These will be the new standard for performance for Infiniti.

Disregard the not so hype 2.0T Merc sourced engine for the 2017 Q60 though. That one is really doesn't do the car justice, its 208hp version, not the updated Merc 258hp one

I think it's becasue FX / QX70 is not the best selling model among the Infiniti Line currently, instead, they are QX60 / Q50 / QX80 / QX50 / and the new Q60 coupe. So I am betting that QX70 is most likely gonna have to wait until at least after they put the new QX80 on the market.

Heck, I even heard they might axe QX70 for good and letting QX50 takes over that segment (like what happened to Acura TL & TSX) = TLX, bitches~

Wow, it seems they really are putting this model on the back burner. Shame, as it's so good, but falling behind now compared to other brands that keep updating.
