Aloha. My first time to this forum. I recently purchased a used FX45 with 133,000 miles on it. Very nicely appointed car but aA few little problems have popped up and I'm hoping to get some feedback.

The gas guage doesn't work. Never shows more than 7/8 full and when the guage shows under 1/4 it will only take 9 gallons. Just a sensor?
Door lock on the front passenger door doesn't work with either the key, the fob, or the inside switch. I figure it is probably the actuator.
The drivers door will not stay open and I can't seem to find the part I need. Maybe I just don't know what to call it.
The car rides pretty rough on the highway, like I'm driving over rocks. People say it is just because of the 20 inch wheels but I don't know if that's true.
The outside mirrors don't seem to be working right. The driver's side is pretty slow, and the passenger side is positively glacial and only moves in very small increments. Almost like it is gummed up.
And the tire pressure light seems to go on randomly.

So, all in all, relatively minor issues but hopefully somebody can give me a heads-up on what to do about all or some of them.

Mahalo.

Welcome to :iS2: Jim.

The rough ride would most likely be your struts and shocks need to replaced. 20" tires rides perfect on the FX. You may want to consider replacing the springs (H&R Springs)while to at it. It will improve the ride significantly.

The best fix for the gas gauge is to start with the driver side level sensor, it that didn't do it, next will the the entire fuel pump since the sensor is attached to the pump. I have put together a DIY, but it not a real permanent fix. Here is the link to the DIY for your reference. https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=13056-Gas-Gauge-Level-Fix

Yeah the gas Guage reading incorrectly is a common problem with first generation fx's try the gas Guage level fix that should do it.

Aloha and welcome!

The part the helps hold the door open is called a Door Check. They can weaken over time. It's the simple little 2-piece bar thing in the jam near the hinges.

The tire pressure light likely means that 1 or more TPMS in the wheels have bad batteries. Easy replacement when the rubber is off the rim. You can check the tire pressures on the Nav screen in the menu.

Mahalo for the info.

I got a lot of good information from my initial post so I thought I'd try again. Is it possible to play an iPod through this beast's sound system? I don't know if it predates that kind of technology or not. Mahalo.

Thanks. I'll try those. I bought a iPod cassette adapter at Kmart and the sound kind of sucks. Plus the iPod just runs down while playing.
