New Owner of 2008 IFX35 BLK/BLK

Hey guys, I am a big car guy and have been searching for a new daily driver for about 4 months. I looked at the BMW 335i, the Jeep SRT-8, and the BMW 550i really close and hard.

Then one day out of the blue the FX 35 popped into my head. We went to Coco Creek Inifiniti (the world's largest I dealer) and drove the G37Scoupe and the IFX35. I really liked the paddles on the G37, reminded me of my 2002 Ferrari 360 F1 coupe. I really needed an SUV, but hate SUVS. I was figuring if the G37 blew me away, I'd do one of those. BUT, the shifts were slow in paddle mode, so we moved on to the IFX.

I ended up leasing the FX for 2 years for $399 (taxes included) a month (chime in if you all think that's a decent deal). Lease term is for 24 mo.'s. I'll share the down payment via PM if anyone cares to know what it was. Overall, I think I got a good deal.

The car/truck is great. I love the sound, the steering and handling is tight, and it's just about as practical as they get.

I opted for the sport package, touring, but no NAV. I hate factory NAVS eventhough I hear Nissan/I does a good job. I love the back up camera and the keyless key.

I want to tastefully and economically mod the car (i have modded others that i have leased/owned) and got robbed upon selling or lease back.

I wanted to know what mods you guys would recommend w. out breaking the bank...

Spacers?

CAI?

Exhaust?

awsome vehicle, great choice, enjoy it. any thoughts of keeping it end of lease?

if your really gung ho for paddles you can install paddles in your fx. if your disapointed with the actual shifting of the nissan slushbox a great upgrade is a valve body upgrade too, that'll tighten up & quicken the shifting, I'm told a lot, & enough to make it shift really nicely.

all the mods you mentioned are nice, wheels are also nice... how crazy would you go with a lease though?... I could never lease a car, I like modding way to much:laugh:
 
Congrats on the purchase. For the pics, photobucket is the easiest way to go about it. You have less limitations and it's good for lazy people who don't like to click a pic to enlarge.
 
Welcome to the scene!

For a lease, wheels are probably the most practical as you can possibly sell them at the end of your lease. CAI is also an easy mod, Lowering the vehicle with eibachs or h&r's. Spacer's are fine if you like the factory wheels and just want a more wider aggressive stance. Lots of mods here you can look at to see which ones suites your taste. CAI is a good mod & the best bang for the dollar IMO is the Motordyne 1/2" Spacer.
Had the most gains for the $$$ spent.....I dont have real numbers, but it was my most impressive mod as far as the engine is concerned. :smile:

thanks, guys. yeah, IFX is just a lazy way to type "Infiniti FX 35"

I like the stock wheels, and don't want to mess with them. i think i am finally grown up enough not to rim up my cars. wow.

anyway, spacers are def. something i am interested in.

as far as CAI's, any recomendations?

If you're in SoCal area - LMS is still trying to get rid of their Z-Tubes & Short Ram Intakes......they're having the sale again tomorrow 9am to 11am.
 
who made their tubes? maybe we can get some :iS: brand tubes made :biggrin::biggrin: j/k.. we don't even have stickers yet:wink::wink::wink:

technically we can - he said hes gonna sell them in bulk too - and the LMS badge is just a sticker, so if we wanted to we can get IS badges and slap them on the tubes.
 
u had a ferrari eh? how did that go? im kinda on the bridge about selling my lexus for an aston vantage... anyone have the vantage here? or if u know neone that does it would be great for a 3rd party opinion... thx HAVE FUN WID THE FX!

off topic again: are gonna do that FX bear the 350z guys are doing? i so... i can get the bear! haha :wink:
 
deng allen...from what i recall u got alotta cars..the fx, lexus,and that hoopty i saw u drive one time to coconut bay..now a vantage...WOW!!! What happened to ur DB7? are you using ur mt. sac student loans to finance all those cars? DUUUDE if thats the case, hook me up with a promoting job...and let ur sponsors @ NITTO know ill use their tires if they hook it up

I actually prefer the F430 over the 360... but before the F430 i loved the 360... but i think the aston has that elegantly designed POWERHOUSE feel... and the ferraris have that thouroughbread-ness (I suck at spelling)

I didnt get the db7... i was about to... but i was told the car had MAJOR mechanical issues... the vantage i got a hook up for it... the camry aka "hoopty" is the family - community car.... the lexus and infiniti is mine... mom drives the camry to work or uses the company car (bmw) and my pops takes my lexus or his own car... (P)
 
Welcome, simple bolt-ons are a way to go. Once the lease is up, it'll take you just a couple of hours to bring your FX back to stock, enjoy.

yea... my dad did... and he kept calling me asking me what that whining noise was... hey im getting a fujita CAI for 170 if u want in tell me :cool:
