Howdy folks,

I have been looking for an fx for a while now and it's coming down to purchase time. I am looking into a one owner 2004 fx45 with 77k for just under $18k. Does this sound like a descent deal? Are there things I should look for? Are there things I should know? I am eager to hear what you all have to say. Thank you for the help!

Well, that car is out of warranty. Maybe, I would look into an extended warranty for your car and see how much it costs. I had several major works done on my car, but my car was under the factory warranty. Without that, it would have cost me around $3000-4000 if not more (throttle body, fuel injections, and fuel pump).

Welcome to the forum. Price could be driven down a hair but if its nice and clean and passes an inspection could be a good deal. An extended warranty is not a bad idea, how are all the services, everything up to date?

I just bought a 2003 FX45 from carmax a couple of days ago. 82K miles for 18K and got extended warranty (carmax care I think ) for about 1.8K. I know it was a bit over priced but it considering the condition of the car, I just couldn't wait and took it home.

a really nice car is worth a little more than the cheapest you've ever seen that particular model ever sell for... many people act like if they seen one sell as low as 16k for example, that all similar ones should automatically be had for that same price, but sometimes the right clean car is worth a few thousand more... good luck with whatever you decide...

04 fx45 with 77k goes for 16k or 17k depend on the condition. try to get it with extended warranty. its always worth to spend extra bucks for the warranty.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I bought her yesterday. Runs better than much of the lower mileage 45's I tested. Got an extendo warranty so I should be set. Thanks again for everything!

Great news! If you have shopped you know the right car when you find it (and smart move on the warranty) Any mod plans on the calendar yet? Maybe you can wrap up a set of lowering springs or an STB for yourself for Christmas......

I am not sure if I will be doing any modding. This car is beautiful on its own. I am a huge fan of the white! I have modded 350Z's, STI's and WRX's and I just feel like it might be nice to keep it the way it is.
