Hello everyone,

I am a new member who just purchased a beautiful black/brick 2003 FX35 Sport. I have a 30 day/1000 mile warranty and it is currently at the Infiniti dealer getting new tie rod end links a full front end check due to some looseness I felt. The dealer is paying for everything including the loaner. I have about 700 miles left on the warranty. My question is in regard to the 60,000 mile service. The vehicle has 59,000 miles on it and I didnt realize that service was needed when I purchased it (one of the few things I didn't research). Do you think I can get the dealer to perform this service for me or at least have them work with me on the price? I think I might be SOL at this point, but any input would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Nathan

They are going to quote with big chunk of money for 60,000 mile service. I think the big main concern for 60,000mile service is to do engine oil change, replace air filter, in cabin filter, transmission fluid change(drain and fill), battery change if you haven't done so since it's 2003. You might want to change the belts, radiator cap and check the tire condition. All of those can be done easily and you are going to spend much less money than getting that service done at the dealership. I hope it helps and I am pretty sure others will add on to this. Good luck !

Dealers keep maintenance records by VIN so the first thing you should do is have the dealership check to see what has been done recently. It could be they performed the 60K service before trying to sell the vehicle.

If not, take a look at the 60K service list. You can have so many of these things done elsewhere for a lot cheaper. Just depends on who you use and how much confidence you have in the shop. Any list item that says "check" or "inspect" - just about any shop can do - even a "Jiffy lube" type place.

You can always check with another dealer as well - all maintenance records are shared between dealerships and getting a second opinion is always a good thing.

I was able to get the service records from when the vehicle was purchased until now. It has had everything up to the 30,000 mile service. Thanks for the information.
