New Member-in the process of buying my new EX!!

The only ones around the main Infiniti dealerships that I have found are white but don't appear to have backup cameras.

Wow thatnks or all the help guys!! I just looked at the one u posted from auto trader-that was in a dealership in Allston, I actually went and test drove another white one...it drove like shit...but had EVERYTHING i wanted in it! go figure huh?? I told the guy i wanted him to put it in the shop to get looked at maybe they needed to do brakes or something-then I asked for the car fax,...and the car had been in 1 "minor fender bender" is what he told me. Then the next day I called him to see what the shop said and he told me "due to the accident it had been in I guess it has a lot more problems then we had expected and we r sending it abck to the leasing company" smh!! but I did just find one....It has everything I want! in new york tho! lol...well it would be definitly worth the drive. Is getting the infinity already certified a big deal?? what does it do as far as warranty goes??

I heard that if the car is certified that means it extends the warranty?

"Have knowledge, will travel" is the name of the game. You're on board with the knowledge of what you want, Without a doubt, I would choose the cameras over the wood trim. Hopefully you can find both. I searched for months and had to go out of state to bring my baby home. Anytime I'm searching for a particular or specific vehicle, I search nationwide. For the right car, I'd ship across the country or drive if I had the time.

You are very right - I never thought of it that way - I looked and found one in the NYC area - planning my road trip for this week sometime already - I am soo excited - this has everything in it!!! Do u guys know anything about new York sales tax - will I pay more then mass?? Or is it based on where u r registering it?

Generally its where you register it. I've never paid the selling party's state any fees. I've also never bought from NY. A dealer may want to jab you with extra fees of some sort. If so, try to negotiate out of those.

Is it a dealer in New York City where you are going to see the car? If its Manhattan Infiniti...STAY AWAY!

Welcome to IS, Nikki! You sound just like me. I am very particular too. For me It had to be a certain color combo and options or it was a no go for me. Having the around view monitor is really cool to have. You can always add aftermarket parts like another camera system or even wood, but it will never be as good as the factory install. So I say keep waiting for the right one and you will find it eventually, that hasn't been in an accident. Worth the wait and you will be happy you did! :top:

No it's not manhattan Infiniti its Pepe Infiniti in white plains ny-I have heard a lot of good reviews from
The online websites for dealer ratings but I also saw on their website that they were rated #1 for Infiniti sales all across the USA!! Which is awesome

Also jmess86- If you know any one at herb chambers I would appreciate the help!! I have spoke to Anthony carlino and he was only able to help me as far as what was available thru herb chambers - he couldn't find anything else - I did find one in ny but I am torn with trying to get financed and having to drive all the way there and back and wait two days and go back again to pick up the car (this is what they told me I would most likely have to do if I finance other then Infiniti)- I would love to finance with Infiniti but not sure if they are really picky or what with financing

yeah its tough to sell a car to a Massachusetts client -- the state wants all the damn paperwork completed before getting the plates and so forth... it's do-able though. A lot of dealers finance with tons of banks so don't worry about them. Honestly, just take your time and search -- there are a lot of EX's coming off lease right now so within a few weeks you'll see a good 18% in volume of preowned EX's showing up

Thanks for the tips and advice to everyone !!! I really enjoy being part of this forum - helps keep me educated and understanding Infiniti!! I found the exact car I want In the dealership in ny - is 27000- which is a great price - although do you think I have any room for negotiating?? I know it's always a case by case situation but how Do I go About asking for a little
Off the price?! I know
People always do it - so I want to at least try ?? Any tips

i helped my bro in law get his g37 coupe recently. here's what we did:

have another person (preferably one familiar with the car or car buying in general) with you for a second opinion in case needed. right before he decided, we talked away from the sales rep and agreed everything looks good. also, as a second person, i checked everything my bro cant since he was driving and talking to the sales rep (making sure everything works, no major scratches or dents etc).

in terms of price, ask for their lowest out the door price (your case, check for any additional fees from being a buyer out of state). the dealer's asking price was good already, but we tried to go lower. we were targeting or expecting about 500 off since that was with the previous dealers we visited before, but this one reduced it by a little over 1k so things went easier from that point on.

be willing to leave in case things dont seem right, or they wont offer anything off the price. it is more of a strategy since you can come back if that is the car you really wanted. in our case, my bro and i left (and thanked ) 2 dealers after sticking to their price and both stepped out and offered 300-500 while we were walking. both times we told them we will keep the offer in mind and thank them again.

hope this helps and good luck with your purchase soon. the fact that you took the time to find what you are looking for will pay off soon. last, welcome to is!

I just bought my FX last month and negotiated as well as arranged all financing over the phone. I purchased from a dealer in NJ and all I had to do was go pick up the car (one visit!) so it can be done if coming from out of state. I did finance through the dealer, not using Infiniti financing, but used Chase bank through them. Let me know if you have any specific questions on the process.
