hey all,

New to this awesome forum. Just picked up a 2012 fx35 in platinum shadow. Love everything about the car. Already having a few issues as i feel like the previous owner abused the car a little.

I took some time to view my issues on this site, and found a lot of good useful information from you guys.

Hope to get my issues resolved soon as i can't wait to start modding my FX :)
 
Welcome, and what issues are u referring to? Also what lead you to believe the previous owner abused it

I'm kind of just speculating that the previous owner abused it or should i say maybe he/she was not a car enthusiast. Visually there were a lot of scratches and nicks inside and out which i pointed out to the dealer.

The more i been driving it, the more problems i been noticing. Three main concerns: rough idle at cold start up. I've had the car for a month and within the month there were 2 times it hesitated to start up (car was warmed up already) and my biggest concern is the lack of acceleration/throttle. I saw a service bulletin on this (ITB14-055) which i'm going to address all these problems when i bring it to the dealer within a week or so.

Took me awhile to get used to the 7 speed AT but now i'm starting get adapted to it. but i'm pretty sure there's something funky going on with the engine.

Other than that i absolutely love the car and looks of it.

Few things i plan on doing soon: matching HID fogs, Window tint all around and a nice set of summer rims/tires!

My first thought was to clean the throttle bodies. I read a lot of posts on this site about cleaning the TB made the idle issues go away.

I also wanted to reset the ECU and start fresh. I feel like it's trying to learn my driving habits over the previous owner.

Do you know if the dealer resets everything before selling any of there used cars?
 
Like you, it has taken me a while to get used to the 7 speed. Coming from a manual it does feel weird. I swore there was something wrong with my transmission and have cleaned the throttle body, done tranny drain fill, drained/filled the front and rear gear oil and while the rough idle got better, it's still not as smooth as I want it to be. Only thing left to try is re setting the ecu since I did add an ark exhaust anyways. I don't get any hesitation but I do get that awful bogging from 2 to 3rd gear when cruising which I hate. I don't feel like it's a tranny problem because when I floor it the car goes flawlessly so I'm just not even thinking about it anymore and tell myself it's just the 7spd. Also considering doing the tranny flash. I got mine in December btw and have 66k on clock. Put about 1500 so far

Just dropped my FX off to the dealer yesterday :disapointed: hoping to get a bunch of issues resolved. Gave them a list of things to look at, some more serious then others.

They gave me a Q50 for a loaner car, like the look of it from the outside but hate the interior setup of the car. it does however perform so much better then my FX which is making me think there something wrong with my car.

Hoping for the best!
 
I felt the same way about the Q50 interior when I got one as a loaner. Not a fan.

My local dealer has quite a few QX70's as loaners now too.
