Hi all, I recently had a new addition to the family (our new baby son) and my wife and I decided to get an FX50S as his chariot.

Really, it was just an excuse for me to buy the SUV I've always wanted. I pick it up this Saturday (October 15) and will get to do some mods slowly here!

My plans are really quite simple:
1) Front lip
2) LED fogs
3) Spoiler
4) Perhaps a muffler delete

Here are some pictures form the dealership. Can't wait!

I guess my biggest issue right now is figure out winter tires. I'd like to go down to 18" or 20" or even 21" for winters but I am very unclear as to what will actually clear the Akebono calipers.

Does anyone have information on what wheels will actually clear? I can't find any OEM 21" wheels locally right now.

Congrats on your new FX. You can get 18's that will clear your big brakes and Blizzaks work well. Most Dealers will sell winter alloys that clear your brakes. Try to swing a deal with them since you are buying the FX there.

Yes, he's from Calgary, Alberta.
By the way, I have Akebonos on my FX. I have the OEM 18" wheels with winter tires, and they will not clear the front without wheel spacers: you will need at least 15mm. The OEM 20" with summer tires will clear them just fine.
If you want 18" and without using spacers, you want to go aftermarket with more of an offset.

Thank you for the response! Yes, from Calgary.

I've given up and asked a local shop to order some 20x8.5" Avant garde M580 ET35 for winter...they are sure it'll work so we will see!
