Hey Infiniti scene. Ive been reading this forum for about a month now, and I love it. Just purchased an fx35 just because i need a family suv, and didn't want a Murano.. No offense :) plus the fx35 is insanely beautiful lol. Anyone else from Spokane WA?
I gotta hurry and get 10 posts, wanna show pics and stuff. :)

Oh ya, it's a gold exterior with mint tan leather interior. No roof racks. Kinda wanted to buy some, but looks like there's a trend here to take them off?

Blast from the past. I have the same color, well under the vinyl:wink:. Actually it looked exactly as yours when I got it. Any plans, as far as modding?

As summer comes, I want to get some rims, thinking about stock 20"s or something like yours. Then wanna buy the plug and play LED interior and exterior license plate package from one of the members here.. Awesome thread by the way..

Just wanna keep it clean. How much to do a vinyl color change? Is it doable by yourself or pay someone to do it?

Zebra did everything himself. Vinyl wrap....piece of cake for him. :smile (2): As for wheels, 22" will look better in my opinion. Also, get some sport clear tail lights. They'll change the look dramatically. There is a very good deal on a complete set of sport tails right now in the classified.

One more post away Andrew. 4499 posts in less then 2.5 years is a milestone on :iS:. So where and when the 4500th post gonna be?

22"s look better, but consider your car will be a little slower. Now that I drive my FX every day, I'm considering swapping to lighweight 20"s from my 22"s. I'm so low that 20"s would look fine too, I think 22"s look better if you don't want to drop too much.

For vinyl wrap, it's going to be $2-$3K+. The FX is big so it's a decent amount of vinyl, that alone will cost you $5-700. You can do it yourself, but you need to have a lot of time on your hands and be patient. It's not hard, but there are tricks involved and it takes 50+ hours. I was about to wrap mine myself, have all the materials here (matte chrome red vinyl), did the roof already in brushed black, but decided to just pay a friend to do it. She wrapped my other car already and I decided I'd rather spend time with my family than every spare minute for the next 2 weeks (I work a lot so no free time) working on wrapping my car.

If you have time though, it's easy enough and doesn't require any special knowledge. If I had some time off, I'd do it myself.

How about plastidip? Should cost less then $700 wouldn't it? And if you mess up, just peel it off...

I'm personally not a fan; the texture is horrible when done on an entire car. I've only seen good looking matte black cars in plastidip and that's because the color hides all the imperfections and texture. Don't do it based on internet pictures; go look at one in real life especially if it's sunny out. You'll immediately see what I'm talking about. And plastidip isn't as durable as vinyl, if you've seen one after a few months of driving, the front end looks pretty bad whereas vinyl will last years. It's not that easy to remove from small cracks and corners either, it's not just "peel it off". Well maybe it is after you've pulled your bumper to get to the material left in the gap.
