On the exterior, shaving the door handles and filling the rear bumper reflectors will clean things up a bit more, not that that's necessary and the handles look really classy. I've got time to think about that. I'll probably color match the grill to the body w/the infiniti emblem chrome. The sunroof has got to go.
Hood pins, small and low-profile, preferably flush w/the hood, w/locks is on the list for sure. I can toss the bulky hood latch assembly all together.
It's already approx. 2" lower, including tire diameter, and I'm good w/that. It is a crossover/suv (per infiniti?), station wagon (per the epa), or is it a truck (per the various chain parts stores). Whatever the hell it is, it's not a car. I like the height as it is now w/the tire diameter.
I went with the ever-unpopular 18" w/some ultra-noisy Kumho's (which are on their way out!) which brought the tire diameter down to 29" from the stock 30.6" which effectively changed my final drive to 3.9. The only other way to do that w/awd is to have some ring & pinions made which I may still do as well, depending on other factors.
Got some powerstop cross-drilled and slotted w/some aggressive pads (fiber/ceramic?). Whatever they are, they bite hard. I'll do everything in my power to resist a bbk. Conceptz had the akebonos on sale for $1,500 a couple weeks back. It was tempting and I would imagine a less than 3800 pound fx will stop much faster than the vehicle for which those brakes were intended. Autocross, yes, bbk. Occasional 1/4 mile runs and spanking the seemingly never ending bad ass cars where I live, I think I'll be fine. Frankly, I'd like to pull the abs/vdc and all that's associated with the two and toss it all in the trash. I absolutely will if I can.
Major overall weight reduction and weight reduction/relocation from the front of the FX will go a long way regarding braking, handling and acceleration. I have no intentions whatsoever about removing anything interior related, though the hatch area is going to change to make room for a couple things. Moving less weight is easier on parts as well. Having tossed both sway (stabilizer) bars, swapping the stock 18", just under 30 lb. wheels for the just under 20 lb. 18" wheels made a big difference as to how it handles. I did these things in the same week and it was a night and day difference. So far so good.
A 7 speed trany, built, is where it's at for me if it'll work, along w/aluminum or cf driveshafts. I have many unanswered questions about a 7 speed swap, but I'm working on it.
Now the srt8, that's a hog!
Damn that's a long reply. Sorry it's late, but I've been cleaning up leaves-gotta love the fall season.
