New Guy Here

Hello everyone
I am new here and looking forward to learn more about infiniti cars as time goes. I personally do not own one YET but been thinking about selling my modded 2000 Audi S4 and getting into a FX35. Always loved these cars. There is just something about the body styling that makes me stop and stare when I see one. My brother in law owns 08 G35x, my buddy and his friend both have infiniti cars so it's just matter of time until I have one too.
Well I hope to get to know few of you on here and learn as much as possible about these beautiful machines.
By the way my name is Emil.

Welcome!! Same here did the switch from my BMWs and been happy ever since :) :wink (2):

Emil, welcome to :iS:. Are you looking to get into a 1st gen (03 - 08) or 2nd gen?

Im thinking more a on a 1st Gen for now and then later on once I get familiar with these cars maybe drop a coin on a 2nd gen.

Welcome! +1 on that remark. Seems like a lot of BMW and Audi tuner guys are lovin' the FX and making the switch lately. I made that switch three years ago. :top:
Is FX your DD now?
I've been in Audi scene for a while now and not planning on leaving it anytime soon however having a twin turboed car as your DD could get costly therefor I am considering getting an SUV and since this is the most beautiful SUV in my eyes, its my first pick.
I've been seeing them locally 03-05 FX35 for around 13.9k-16.9k and thats right there in my price range alley. My biggest concern is reliability of them? How reliable are these SUVs and what to expect when buying a 80k-100k FX35?

they're actually very reliable as long as theyre maintained well... the vq and vk engines are very powerful and run very smooth.. u wont be disappointed

btw if u can find something around 50k miles are less, then u'd be golden.. i got mine in december for 16.4k with 48k miles.. just take ur time and fint the right one

Upstate NY prices are crazy specially on imports and SUVs because we get lots of snow and it very hilly so SUVs go for more here. I will be starting a search for one sometimes in August end of the summer time and going to keep my options open for travelling if needed down south if one comes along with good price and milage.
So what are some of the major maintenance issues the FX has?
Those engines are TB i take it and not chain? What is the suggester replace time is?

There have been a lot of threads recently on what to look for in an FX, but definitely do your research in finding a good one you'll like and hear us out too. Yes, my FX is my DD. I had a 2004 FX35 for two years, 82K miles and never had the check engine light on. Only once due to playing around with a larger throttle body. I now have a 2007 FX45 and drive, own and enjoy every moment of it and have absolutely no concerns about it. I would say for the most part these cars are bulletproof well into 100K. I had a 2000 A6 4.2 and I started having issues at 40K and well into 70K, just before I got rid of it.
