I read a bunch of stuff on this site before I purchased my Infinitis. Two months ago I picked up a 04 QX56 4x4 nav/dvd and with 27K miles and yesterday I finished it off by picking up a 04 FX35 (sport and touring package)with 38K miles. The QX is white and the FX id Black. THey are our family cars and so far I love them. I got them both online from orginal owners. QX in Florida,older couple owned it and the FX came from a corporate ex. in Atlanta. I took the FX straight to the dealership and had the dash replaced. The FX is black on black and it has what appears to be factory tinted windows front and rear. They have a etiched line at the bottom of the glass with Infiniti logo. It has brand new Nittos 420s. The QX is sooo comfy to ride in, I put a cold air intake on it and picked up 1 mpg, I put a power programmer on it and picked up 2 mpg.

I watched the prices on these cars for over a month. I got the QX for 22,500. I thought that was a great price for the history of the truck. The FX was a much better deal due to the situation of the owners needed to move and I didnt want to take the car with him. I picked it up for 12,500. He was asking 16 and I dickered and dickered till he agreed. Flew there the next day and nailed it down.

The FX is quick in nibble, but I swear that QX is comfy. We sold both Tahoes and bought these and that QX is head and shoulders over the Tahoe in comfort and power. The FX is not the car of choice for a long trip. Driving back from ATL to Mississippi was painful. It is only going to be our extra quick trip car anyway.

Welcome and congrats on both vehicles!

I'd keep an eye out on the 04 QX though. I've heard they can go through some serious problems. Reliability for them hasn't been the greatest. I recommend keeping an eye out on the QX forums :-).
 
welcome to :iS:. where FX might not do the job, the QX will definitely pick up the slack. and I must say i am impressed by the purchase price, heck of a deal.
 
Coming back from Atl to Ms. I drove nothing under 80 and the car told me 20mpg. I question those things. I plan on adding the same stuff on the FX as I did the QX. I hope it will help on MPG. I adv 16.5 in the city with the QX. I would love to beat that with the FX. I see alot of people talking of this FX as a performance car>>>>I have not put my foot in it yet. When it was a tthe dealership getting the dash replaced they gave me a loaner car. A G37...that thing scared the crap out of my! it is fast! Surely the FX is nothing like that GS37! I swear that thing will fly.

I just like the looks of the FX and the Black with 20s is eye pleasing. Will adding the cold air intake and a MAF sensor chip help? I hear those MAF chip help some.

I am having trouble with the outside door mirror motors being slow weak and sometimes not working. You guys ever had this and can only the motor be replaced or will it be the whole mirror assembly?

congrats on both cars and welcome to :iS:.
anyway i have the same issue, it's my passenger side mirror, it only moves from side to side not up and down.
