FX50
Just picked up a FX50 for a daily driver, so far loving the power and the car!
Had it for about a month, going to keep it relatively stock but couldn't resist putting an exhaust, spacers, remote start and LEDs all around

What type of exhaust did you go with? Any noticeable drone on low rpm range? A sound clip is always welcome :)
Welcome to the forum by the way and congrats .

A friend of mine had an Invidia exhaust laying around for his G37, I ended up just using the axleback part of it. Flanges just needed to be cut/welded and the tips extended.
I'm very picky when it comes to drone, safe to say zero drone at all RPM ranges. I think it drones less than OEM.
Will definitely try to get a sound clip when the weather gets better, its definitely on the quieter side but enough to be noticeable.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

welcome... I went through 4 exhaust setups on my 50 til I got it right...... good luck!

I have custom test pipes, custom mufflers, and a tune.... youtube.com/jebaker1121

Welcome, I bought the G37 sport exhaust for my FX50. Which remote start did you get?

Idatalink! Using the OEM remote, its great. Only drawback I found, was that I cant tell if the car turned on or not!

Thanks! I actually watched many of your videos, and read your threads about the exhausts. Very appreciative about you documenting your process. I'm thinking of cutting out the secondary cats for a bit more noise. And maybe change the Invidia muffler to muffler delete with two resonators welded in.
I've been through about 8 exhausts on my other vehicle before settling on one, so I'm very familiar with the struggle for a good exhaust note!

keep the invidia muffler, see how you like it with the midpipe resonators cut out.

With my muffler delete, it sounded good up top but too much bass at the lower RPMs.

I should post an updated video..been 4 years since my last one!

Im thinking about keeping the resonators in, and cut out the secondary cats instead. In my experience, removing factory resonators bring out the rasp in the exhaust note. Hopefully I can get to this by the summer!
An updated exhaust video would be great! It'll give me some inspiration haha

You won't get too much rasp with this motor doing that, not like the 3.5 or 3.7L.... v8 has more "gurgling" in my opinion. I will try to get a video this week.

Also, when you say 'secondary cats" what are you referring to?

The cats which you replaced with test pipes. Correct me if Im wrong, but it does look like the FX50 has four cats with two of them being in the exhaust manifold.

Hey buddy welcome...

I used to have a IPL I had custom exhaust on it I found that test pipes and a x pipe with two resonator with the rear muffler provided ARK gave my car an amazing sound so you might be ok for what it sounds like your going to do.

The headers bolt to the catalytic converters, that is what I replaced with test pipes - only one set of cats on the car.
